Please let us know when you hear anything on who they are looking at.
Hopefully you can ask about kiffin.

can someone answer me why everyone thinks Wade would come back to LSU from NC State? NC State is a way better job and they average 14k a game and have more NIL.
And was done wrong by LSU. Its laughable people think he would drop everything to come back to LSU
The Wade stuff is strictly relationship based. Contractually, prestige wise, how it ended with LSU, none of it makes sense. This desire to bring him back is because LSU fans would welcome him back, he does have some feelings for the people of LA in general and McNeese was good to him and now some of those same people would be his bosses again.
Can/will LSU swing for the fences like they did with Kim Mulkey....there are some with a big enough stick who just might. But HC of football comes first. The Pear?.....Hopefully next.

Hiring will wade is not “swinging for the fences”

I don't want wade back.there are better out there.

For LSU it is...especially at the price it will take to get him back.

I always get Hot Buffalo on wings, Tabasco jalapeño on Chipotle Burritos.
I haven’t eaten Taco Bell in a coon’s age, but when I do, I just hold out the tray or bag until they have satisfied my Fire sauce needs. At least 6 packets per item.

Will do. So far I have no info on a plan B. They've gotten a lot done over the past 36hrs or so getting some pieces in place. Now that their focus can be turned strictly to the HC search I'm hoping a solid candidate that will excite the fan base emerges quickly. No lazy hires.

We'd have to back the Brinks truck up for him.
Which I'm happy for him at NC State. Objectively a better place to live, their arena isn't a morgue, gets to play Duke and North Carolina every year and most importantly he isn't in the SEC.
When McMahon is fired, I'd rather them poach Bill Armstrong. He is the closest we will ever get to Wade without it being Wade.

None of it is earth shattering, but if it bothers you so much you don't have to click on the thread...or even the the CC board for that matter.
...and yet, here you are.

Interestingly, we have a Chancellor now from UA that came at last minute considering we haven’t had one since 2012.

Yeah, that's the only part that makes wonder if we're all getting double smoke screened about Saban.
My source said Saban flat turned down an LSU offer today. It makes the most sense, and is what everyone in their gut knew would probably be true but the UA hire is at least interesting.

I already asked if Saban was the smokescreen for Saban.
It's 4D chess science.

I think he meant stop lying about having inside sources.

Saban as AD was a smokescreen for Saban as HC

LSU had bad timing with Les Miles, Saban left us on Xmas eve...oh that cut so deep
Then we fire Les mid season, a season too late, and we get O after losing on last second on the goal line to UF. I was so dang mad we hired O. Loved him as a recruiter, never thought he was the guy. Again I will always compare coaches to saban...if you don't at least carry yourself well in front of a TV and Mic, I am going to form perceptions
Then we fire O after two 6-6 seasons
And we get Kelly...which was a splash hire of sorts, but ended up mostly well beneath expectations...he wasn't liked, and now we know he wasn't working hard.
So now we fire our AD, and we end up with promoting from within in less than a week.
So, this is why LSU fans are worried about what's happending with the HC hire because we have seen LSU screw up so many times before
Nobody knew Nick Saban at the time of his hiring, he reshaped college football...forever. We only had him for 5 years. We tasted greatness and want it back even if it's for just a little while.
We tend to think somewhat negatively dealign with the uknowns because LSU tends to mess up hires
Not entirely fair to Les, but dang he was goof ball. But he was our goof ball but he lived off what Saban built for about 7 years
That's just how it was...
this hire will take is forward to new horizons or set us back....The new SEC is eating coaches like an ice cream sandwich

He wouldn’t say yes until the end of the regular season anyways, in my opinion. He’s going to finish his commitment to College Gameday one way or another.
Any offer to Saban right now is just an opportunity for him to say no and leverage it into a better offer.
Posted on 11/4/25 at 9:53 pm to ApexTiger
Yeah, I'm not a fan of promoting Verge from within but I'm willing to give him a chance to prove me wrong.
