The dilusion is real. They are all saying how they love this hire and it’s a home run

Lol really

From Leach, to Norvell, to Kiffin to a 60 year old offensive line coach

Oline coach, he's never been more than that.

Home run hire or drop foul ball in the 9th inning of the CWS?

I'm barely even an Arkansas fan anymore and I like the hire. He's one of the best recruiters in the country.

He's the offensive line coach

This is just like when we hired Orgeron.

Offensive line coach*

There were rumors of Lane bringing him to Oxford I guess now we know why those were squashed.

You’re so full of shite. No one called it a homerun hire. Yea we like it. It’s a solid hire. Nobody thought farmer Fran would amount to shite and look at him now

Call it what you want; but it’s the same exact type of hire that LSU made 3 years ago. We only laugh now, b/c in hindsight, O was a good hire that has seemed to work out.

Pittman has Arky ties, longtime position coach, with a great recruiting track record. Only difference is that O had head coaching experience.

I’m not saying he becomes successful like O; but hey, you never know.

Naw man....O line coach. O line. O line coach.

Fact is, our AD had one option in his mind. That option was Lane Kiffin. Once Big game Keith Carter swept in, Hunter was in scramble mode.

Some of our BOT thought Lane would hit the ground long dicking coeds and we couldn't have that. Couldn't have the blue hairs stroking out while dining at Herman's, when Lane strolled in with an entire sorority under his arm.

We want Baptist preachers here, not football coaches...

But Pittman with the right staff, will at least get the program back on solid footing in a few years....

That is unless Sheffield Nelson and Wally Hall aren't interviewing Joel Olsteen about right now.

It's nothing like the 2016 Orgeron hire. It's everything like the 2017 Matt Luke and 2005 Orgeron hires that Ole Miss made though.

But that is a huge difference. His failure at Ole Miss and the lessons he learned from it helped shape him into the coach he is today.

Everyone bitches about Jerry's influence in the program, but ignore the cross church group that has continually attempted to take the program over by force.

Most LSU fans said the same thing regarding LSU hiring Ed Orgeron after missing out on Tom Herman and Jimbo Fisher. Sometimes the flashy hire isn't the right fit. Arkansas tried that with Bielema and Morris. I'd say going in a different direction may not be so bad.

Pittman was I believe, a member of that church when he was here before.

Jerry and his bunch didn't win this time. If they had their druthers, we would be introducing Butch Davis right about now.

I think Ole Miss stepped up. But Kiffin was Hunter's only choice. And it was apparent when Wally Hall started his hit job pieces early last week.

Pathetic.

Stop with the signature.

I disagree.

O had been a HC in the SEC. Pittman has not. Yes, O failed. But he apparently learned from the experience. He is clearly not the same coach he was over ten years ago. He is seasoned, he has evolved.

O has been an interim HC at two different high profile schools and was successful at both. He walked into tough situations and managed them well. Pittman has done nothing like that, not even once.

It is incorrect to say this is just like LSU hiring O. This is actually just like Ole Miss hiring O over ten years ago.

Now, none of this means Pittman will fail. He may do well at Arkansas. But it is a big gamble.
