What would be the response if given we can cut bait next year with little to no financial penalties?

For the record, I to gave myself a downvote. I don’t think it would work either.

I’m not a fan of co-DC’s. For me it’d have to be either or. I wouldn’t be a fan of either. Muschamp just bothers the shite out of me for whatever reason. I’ve got a tremendous respect for CR, but I don’t think he’s the guy you go to having never called a defense. You have to get a dc with some kind of play calling experience.

For the record, I did not downvote. It’s a message board and you asked for opinions. I don’t see the problem here. Discussing potential hires and scenarios would fit into what the forum is supposed to be.

This is still the tigerdroppings coaching changes board and all logic & opinions all suck unless they include:

1. High risk High reward coach
2. Anything completely different than current staff
3. Coordinator at team we’ll never get

And for that, take a downvote you noob.

Instead, we should just re-hire Bradley Dale Páveto and Doug Mallory, fire coach ‘O’, and rehire Leslie Miles!!!!!

id prefer a DC that isn't a retread and has actually been a dc during the offensive revolution.

Boom was last DC in 2015. The offensive game has changed since then.

Raymond would have been fine after Aranda left but now that Bo shite the bed I don't think we want him cutting his teeth on that.

Odom’s last couple of Missouri defenses weren’t good, either. That didn’t stop him from being a great DC when he went back where he really belongs. Muschamp was just a lousy head coach and didn’t recruit as well at USC as he did at UF.

I think he would be a lot better DC than Pelini, but he would want big money and there are plenty of better options for us who won’t have his price tag or ego attached.

After seeing Mallory and Peveto fail miserably, Frank Wilson (who I respect as a coach) flame out as a head coach on his first try and Larry Porter almost destroy the Memphis football program, let’s say I’m skeptical of handing positions to guys here before they prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

If Raymond really wants to be a DC, then he needs to make the move. He needs to put his name out there and go get a job with a good G5 or lower P5 school and prove he can run and scheme a defense. That’s the only way he will become the DC here, if that’s what he wants.

And if he was successful, I would be all for giving him the job here in the future. It’s just too big of a risk to hand him the keys not being sure of that.

Why not Mason and Raymond if you are going the Co-DC Route? I read up on Marcus Freeman last night. I think this could be the guy!
