This is a great move for Muschamp if true.

Coaching in a pressure cooker, second fiddle school in the same state as you know who.

Tough assignment for a first time head coach.

Maybe it's just his agent using AU to squeeze more money out of Texass...they've got plenty.

This hire makes AU look like the dumb asses they really are. You take an unproven DC with no head coaching experience as your head coach to replace one of the better defensive minded coaches in D1A football.

Wasn't UT going to promote this unproven DC?

Everyone is forgetting the most important factor: $$$$$$$$$$

He'll likely get paid twice as much as a Head Coach, compared to what he'll get paid as a DC. Also, Mack isn't leaving anytime soon and he must realize that.

Personally i dont think muschamp will be that great of a head coach. Hell of a coordinator but defense was never really the problem at auburn

What do you base this on? There's a 50/50 chance that he'll be a good coach. Nothing to indicate that he'll be a bad coach. Is this just a feeling?

Not if he flops at AU. Then he's back to being a DC somewhere, and gave us his shot at a much better situation.
Until TT came on the last couple of years, Texass basically has a 1 game regular season in Dallas every year.
At AU he'll have to beat $aban at least as much as he loses to him, plus have better than average records against LSU, UGA, UArk, and the occasional UF & UThug games.
Just think the path to long-term success at Texass is much easier than at AU. He's still a very young man.

Aside from never being a herad coach, Muschamp gave up 579 yards of Offense to Texas Tech.

Did "Mallveto" give up 579 to anyone? NO

No, and Crowton/Miles will continue to beat the "shite" out orf Auburn. Texas tech is weak on DL& OL, not even close to SEC Football.

Welcome to Aubuirn Mike Archer..er Will Muschamp.

I think it's a smart move for Muschamp...prob $2-3 million per year - he can't wait on Mack to reitre - it won't happen for 5-10 years. The guy has a chance to make money - gotta take it. Plus - UT doesn't recruit DEF stars like they do Off stars - it's the big 12...gotta have offense there. Plus - I don't think he'll be that great of a head coach. Not better than Tubs - this is a W on our schedule for at least the next few years.
