Not to piss in Florida’s chili but.....when Mullen is smiling and laughing on the field after losing to FSU (like he did after losing to a pathetic Ole Miss team) next year don’t say you weren’t warned. Sure he’ll win some games. Hell McElwain won back to back SEC East Championships there. Never liked or wanted a coach that losing, especially to its biggest rival, didn’t bother him.

The dude took MSU to a #1 ranking in the country. He'll probably do just fine at UF

The dude made Miss St relevant and is clearly the best HC in the history of the university. Take a step back bro.

I'd like Taggart's chances against Mullen in state recruiting

Coaches are hired guns. They don't give a crap about rivals. It's just one of 12 games. Rivals are for fans.

I'm with you all the way on that assessment OG. And I hope Mullen is just as much a failure at Florida as Franchione was at A&M. Bama lost the 2002 Iron Bowl because Franchione was thinking about money just like Mullen was on Thanksgiving night. That loss to Ole Miss didn't bother Mullen one bit just like the AU loss didn't bother Fran one bit. Good luck UF, but if I'm wrong and Mullen tears it up at Florida, I will eat my dung on the SEC Rant.

Sad to know making MSU relevant is your criteria for being a good hire. He wasn’t their first choice nor was he their 2nd choice. He was at a minimum their 3rd choice. My point, in case you missed it, was how I don’t care for his don’t give a shite attitude when he loses to his teams biggest rival.

News flash: Most of the time teams don't land their 1st or 2nd choice (LSU hasn't in it's last three HC hires). You are pissed about the dude losing the Egg Bowl after losing his star QB in a rivalry game. That's not the end all be all to being a good head coach in CFB.

That's one of the most impressive feats any coach in the country has pulled off, what's your criteria instead? Pouting after a loss?

We will see. It's clear now that it isn't just open season for UF & FSU when it comes to recruiting the state of Florida. I'll save my judgement on Mullen when he finalizes his coaching staff at UF.

It's obviously no excuse, but his mind was elsewhere during the Egg Bowl.

I mean I get that it's cool to make fun of state on an LSU message board. But the dude did the best he could in Starkville and got them to bowl games. But I really don't know why some of you are bitching about his nine seasons in starkville.

Which has happen thousands of times before in sports. This isn't breaking news and sure as hell doesn't make someone a bad coach.

Mullen was smiling because he knew he was getting out of Starkville.

Honestly, I think Florida made a homerun hire. Wish I could say I felt differently, but the truth is I think Florida will be back to being a powerhouse within a couple of years.

You guys value the wrong things when it comes to coaches.

He wasn't visibly pissed off when he lost a game = horrible coach

Talks like us = let's give him a chance

News Flash: I couldn’t care less about the Egg Bowl. If I were the head coach of an SEC team making millions I think I could avoid laughing and back slapping after getting skull drug by my teams biggest rival. I think I would also show a little more restraint due to the gruesome injury sustained by my star QB. I don’t like Mullen. You do. Congratulations.

That didn't work out for John Cooper at OSU
