Right-he jets while his iron is hot. State exceeded expectations this year and although losing to Bama-stood toe to toe on National TV to the number one team in the land. This was his chance so he left. Life goes on and just a Fitzgerald said when asked about losing his coach.."No one man is bigger than the whole program" We will compete again next year!!

Bama lost the 2002 Iron Bowl because Franchione was thinking about money just like Mullen was on Thanksgiving night. That loss to Ole Miss didn't bother Mullen one bit just like the AU loss didn't bother Fran one bit. I was really into the Frost/Chip options but honestly Mullen was definitely a good way to go. He did a very good job at State and compared to when he was considered back in 2011 (when Muschamp was hired and Mullen only had 2 years of HC on resume) I think more time has helped out big time
