yea, per capita. Mississippi's population is almost half of LA's. there's a shortage of nos. like I said and they're fighting OM for it. They're not goin into LA or AL and taking it.
Is it not a small country town w/ little to do? Small stadium?

Books, i'm not saying you're not making good points I just don't fully agree with your points.
Yes it is a small town & yes there's nothing to do but the same can be said about Fayettville, Oxford, Athens, Gainsville, etc. Yes they do have to compete with Ole Miss but that doesn't affect them getting plenty of good players to make them competitive. Arkansas used to have a small stadium too and so did Ole Miss, etc. If they keep winning then the demand for tickets will continue to go up and then they will expand, when you lose every year there is no need to have a bunch of empty seats in a big stadium. If Miss State wins I promise you they will expand and pack that stadium out. They have a great fan base.
Do you think one of the main reason's kids choose a college is because of the size of the town and what there is to do? Is it a factor? Yes but a small one. The majority of kids are looking at what type of facilities do you have, gameday atmosphere, academic support, chance for the NFL, Head Coach, assistant coaches, etc.
Do you think Baton Rouge the city was a big draw for kids coming to LSU and turning things around in our football program? I don't. What turned it around was finally having people in charge at LSU that had a vision and worked that vision to become reality. It was dramatically improving facilties, it was our stadium and the great tradition of gameday experience, it was the academic center for atheltes, it was the football operations center, it was Nick Saban and a great staff of coaches, it was winning on the field and putting a good product on the field, it was & is the chance to make it to the NFL, etc.

If they build a new bigger stadium, it'd be a start, but that ain't happening any time soon. Ark is the lone school in their state, Oxford >> Starkvegas, but using OM as a measuring stick isn't sayin much. Athens is arguably the best college town in the country and UGA is a perennial SEC power w/ a massive talent base and big stadium. Gainsville sucks arse, but UF is a powerhouse for a ton of reasons.

We recently received a 30 mil dollar donation that will help keep Mullen at State. I've heard rumors of an all football facility. I guess that would be kinda like the one tennessee is about to build hopefully. But just because we were paying him 1.2 doesn't mean we couldn't pay him more. He was a former assistant. He had to prove himself before he could make the big bucks.

For one thing, he can't sign a 6-8 year deal. Mississippi law only allows four year contracts. So given this fact, I don't know how much stock I put into your post.

If it were me...I would sign a long term deal and sit my happy arse in Starkvegas till I retired. All he really has to do is whip some Blackbear butt at the end of the year and them dogfans will start naming their first born after Mullen.
With that being said, I think Mullen can build a real contender at MS State for an SEC Championship. MS has all the recruits he needs and he still has pull in FLA. If it can happen at Texas Tech, Baylor, Boise State...then it fo sho can happen in Starkganistan.
