According to Daniel Jerimiah, who is basically Mike Mayocks replacement fwiw

quote:

Some interesting college names floating around for NFL openings. Rhule, Kelly, Kingsbury & Mullen.

Feel like Rhule gets an interview every year

Mullen would be interesting. Him with Baker would be fun. But I feel like it’s a long shot.

I honestly think Kliff just wants to smash LA pussy more than advance his career at this point

I think Mullen has been mentioned before during Dak's rookie year.

I have a hard time picturing Mullen in the NFL. He seems like a college guy

He makes sense given his success/innovation and he doesn’t seem to love recruiting.

But Florida is a perfect spot for him that he’s wanted for a long time. Can’t imagine him leaving them high and dry

Why isn't Jimbo ever mentioned? His offenses are more pro style.

No one is paying him 75 mil in the NFL.

Did a heck of a job at Temple. He took over a dumpster fire at Baylor and got them to 7 wins in year 2

Mullen owns Aranda. I’m all for him going to NFL. I Actually think he would do a pretty good job paired with an NFL roster.

Idk

His offense relies a lot on the QB running the ball, and he’s at a P5 job.

I dont Think he’d succeed or risk it.

I think really highly of Mullen as a coach. I honestly think he could be successful in the NFL. I don't think he'd leave Florida after 1 year unless it was for an absolute dream NFL job though (ie one with an elite QB).

Scored 20, 37, 19, and 20 on offense since aranda came to LSU

LSU on the other hand has scored 19, 3, 21, and 23 in those same games.

Guessing it’s probably our other coordinators that he owns

I feel the exact opposite of that assertion, and it's 11 up votes.

Mullen has never been a world class recruiter, yet well maximizes the cupboard, and coaches up 3* ballers. Is excellent at play calling & at down-and-distance execution. And is fairly even keeled in persona, not letting highs and lows effect him or his teams too adversely.

Where as many of his other contemporaries far outrecruit him, yet continually have QBs/WRs that far too often throw short of the sticks and end zones on 3rd/4th down, etc..and are clearly NCAA HCs not potential NFL HCs. Mullen is a solid next level offensive mind.

I've always felt that he could be a good NFL HC, if paired with a solid franchise, and with a decent to good QB.

The best job in football right now for a coach is head coach of a big time college football program.

Mullen has more job security at Florida.
