Pretty funny this time last year a large population in this board though Mullen was a below average coach and would be terrible at Florida. Dumb

They are trying to copy Ram’s success with Mcvay

NFL teams are looking for an edge, and the spread is finally creeping into the NFL. So they are going to the source.

I wouldn't be too distraught if Mullen left LSU's cross division rival.

Do not forget that Baylor received a NOI from the NCAA due to the Briles saga, so Rhule may be looking to get out while the getting is good.

No, not at all, but have been taken aback slightly to his slow Fla era recruiting, especially with FSU and Miami spinning their wheels.

I'm one of those guys on this board, that have been down voted for wanting Mullen to LSU years ago, and having him in their LSU top 5 wishlist for HC. And was amazed that Foley went for Muschamp and Mac before Mullen.

Mullen makes a lot of Sense for an NFL team. He wins with play calling not recruiting. I think he would do a good job but he just got to a great college job.

If he ends up with an NFL job, his path would be similar to Bill Obrien

Take the sanctioned job and anything you do there will make you look like a miracle worker

Mullen would be interesting.

I could see it. Really good coach. Doesn’t give a shite about big time recruiting. The pro game is more amenable to his offensive style now than it used to be. I could see it.

Boy this would be a dick-punch to UF. Just when they find their next guy, he leaves after a year. That part would be enjoyable . Probably doesn’t happen, but it would be fun to watch them have to scramble.

He was hired with what they told him went on, the NCAA may have a different interpretation.

My guess is he knows he’s done the best he can and if they are looking at 4 years of sanctions, he would be at year 6 of a 7 year deal...

Would be prudent to look around and see what is out there

It isn’t about ability or interest with Mullen. It’s about priority and style. It’s pretty clear at this point that he doesn’t give a crap about being a star chaser. That’s a conscious choice on his part.

It will be interesting to see how it works for him long-term at UF. State fans didn’t care as long as he was running a winning program and beating Ole Piss. UF fans are a different animal, entirely. If it keeps working for him like this year, no one will care. If things change, that would be interesting.

Auburn is the only other big SEC program that competes with Bama in any real way without consistent top 5 classes, but they also yo-yo up and down when Malzahn doesn’t get just the right mix on the field. It will be interesting to see if Mullen does the same, or if he can make this approach work a little smoother. I think he’s a better coach, so maybe he can.

Why would Mullen leave UF after 1 year?

Man I'd love to see Mullen go to the NFL just to screw with Florida.

Hey look another off season and another Mullen to ...... rumor. Congrats Florida this is like the 10th year in a row for him. It’s not really the off-season without Mullen putting his name out there to get a raise at the cost of recruiting

florida is ranked 15 with all but 2 guys signed will be pushing top 10 today when chris steele announces. Only 4 teams ranked higher have more 4 stars than florida.. 20 and 21 classes are off to a great start also .. let's give him time to make relationships that he couldn't make because he coached at miss st.
