I hate to be the bearer of bad news. I would think someone following our program so closely would remember the worst sound bite of the year.

I don’t know why Mississippi State wants to hire someone who has never been a coordinator much less run anything on his own. Talk about throwing him to the wolves against Saban and Bama machine. LSU. Auburn and his instate rival Ole Miss with Lane. That is a grueling lineup. Does he know anything about recruiting ? Does he realize how much administrative work there is to be done ? He might love his Alma mater but jumping head first into his first head coach job in the SEC west is dumb.

Can you come up with more than one example? Joe Judge might be the next big thing. Who knows ? But on paper he is pretty inexperienced and is going to get thrown into the deep end day one against some machines of programs. On paper it would be a questionable hire if they are serious about winning football games. Orgeron might win a national title next week. On paper at the time, it was a bad hire. This would be no different and maybe worse. At least Orgeron had been humbled in his career. Judge has done nothing except be an assistant on staffs of the greatest ever. Everyone thinks that he will emulate the greatness that he has seen but who has come from the Saban tree worth a frick ? Kirby but he is a bonehead half the time. The rest pretty much suck.

All great points. The one caveat that you have to remember is that with the inexperience comes a low salary. Which likely means that he will have a substantial budget to get coordinators. We shall we how it all plays out, but I’m hearing the following:

S&C Aaron Feld
OC Will Hall
DC Tosh Lupoi

I wonder why the Giants interviewed Judge for a head coaching position.

I don’t know that I would want to be thinking the same as the New York Giants right now.

Harbaugh had nearly 25 years of experience as an on-field coach when he got the Ravens job in 2008. Judge has been an on-field coach for less than five years. The two aren’t comparable outside of their ST background.

The #Giants are hiring #Patriots ST coach and WRs coach Joe Judge, source said. He just informed Bill Belichick.

Didn't even swing. Got caught looking.

ETA - Cohen should do the honorable thing and resign as soon as he works out the details to the Grantham hire, assuming he doesn't step on his dick with that opportunity.

Y’all wanted so bad for Cohen to be yalls Skip Bertman. It’s truly sad to see how it’s turned out

What does this even mean? Cohen came to state way after Bertman retired from baseball at LSU. Bertman hired Smoke as I recall. No one was or will ever replicate what Skip did in baseball at LSU. Too many teams trying now to go on such a run. He did hire Saban, I think. Is that what you mean? A more recent example of baseball coach moving into the AD roll is at USC with Ray Tanner. They seem thrilled (sarcasm) with that move. So again, what are you talking about exactly?

Skip hired Les, not Saban.
