LINK
According to this article, Miles has resurfaced as a potential candidate for the Michigan job. This is after several days of his not even being mentioned.

This whole thing is playing out like there has been some major discussion behind the scenes.
If Les is taking the job...he's already accepted it behind closed doors IMO

It's the Free Press stirring the pot. What does it mean "has resurfaced"? No cites to where it "resurfaced" or who has talked about it.Probably means some message board has speculated, which is no news at all.

It wouldn't be that difficult. LSU is one of the top 10 coaching jobs (per ESPN), and most current coaches would be moving up if they went to LSU. Also, LSU has the money!

true but the later it is i would think it would just get more difficult, plus it's definitely not good for recruiting

Nice try!
That news conference was 3 years ago in Atlanta.

Just so we are all clear.
From this morning's coach's press conference:
"I have had no contact with Michigan. I’m really here to speak about no other school."
"Michigan will be fine. They will always be Michigan. Speculation is not factual."
"The only thing I can say to you is my focus is completely on this game. We’re getting ready to play a great A&M team."
"I have no real view of anything else but what I’m getting done right here."
"I very much enjoy where I’m at. Nobody has any reason to be concerned in any way."
from the Twitter feed of The Advoc's Randy Rosetta, who's live on the scene.
I am not so sure... I think this is a good example of saying,"I am the coach at LSU and I am not TALKING about my career status until after this game"...
I think, and fear, that this may be the time that Les goes home to Michigan. I think it will be bad for LSU, and with the shape and place UM is in now, it will prove to be bad for Coach Miles as well.

Think about it. He has a high profile game to play in 2 days. He has to get his team ready for the game and deal with all the other demands on his time that playing in the Cotton Bolw involves. How hard is it to believe that he has told himself, his agent, and everybody else "I'm not even going to think about this until after the game."? Think about some analogous situation you have been in, where the job at hand is so important that you push other issues, even important ones, aside until the job at hind is finished. If you can do it, why can't he?

If worst comes to worst then, might as well shut down the football program then and every other athletic program for which it covers their budgets.

MANY coaches have said far more definitive things denying interest in jobs only to take them later. If Les would have said something more definitive...based on how he responded the last time this happened...I would be apt to believe him. These quotes are wearily coach speak and worry me.

Yes these comments by Miles are kind of "squirrelly", lawyer type denials. Nothing real definitive in the way of a denial.

considering he's been in this position before, and he did leave his current team, i think he can handle it a 2nd time

he's shown in his own analogous situation that he is quite able to scheme for a job while preparing for a bowl

I don't have ANY IDEA what you are talking about...that is from this morning

What he can do and what he chooses to do aren't the same. You're arguing that he is capable of doing both. A fine argument, but it really isn't responsive to my post. My point, if you look at the post, is that he is perfectly capable of compartmentalizing, and that doing so would be consistent with rational behavior.
