Miles isn't going anywhere, he is using this for a big contract

Michigan is in shambles. Do you think that fanbase is going to tolerate lack of improvement after three horrible years with Dick Rod? They use to be a very proud university and you'd think they want to see some immediate improvement. Their fanbase can be just as brutal.
IMO, he is just using that for leverage to get another huge contract where he can have LSU by the balls both ways again. It is going to be hard to get a solid coach with everyone getting gobbled up, so he can leverage that. Bets on Miles getting another insane buyout clause?

No way he gets one.

LSU better not
This is his Alma Mater.....Money...while important should not be the deciding factor

wrong wrong wrong I really think he realizes this is the best opportunity to take the Michigan job. A job that he has always wanted in his heart.
Besides if Hoke was their guy, wouldn't they have hired him by now.

It is that or he leaves. Plain and simple. But I'm going to put money down LSU will throw the money at him if they feel they can't lock a great hire up. Miles was hired when Saban put us in a bad situation, this is very similar to that. Remember his hire didn't ignite the fanbase? It is not going to be as easy as people think to get a homerun hire this late...

per belowpar, they are re-doing his contract, so Miles is definitely in a win-win situation.

Alleva said that Miles already had a great contract. Didn't sound like he was working a better one up.

This but I think he leaving. Besides why pay out more than 3.75 million a year when coaches around the contry would kill to have the LSU job.

They are re-doing it so it shows that Michigan will owe the 1.25 million dollar buyout.

Exactly. He has LSU by the balls both ways. He can leverage a huge contract or leave...like you said, a win win.

he is getting rolled over and if he wins Saturday (reaches 11 wins) his buyout goes back up to like 15-17 mil

ah-hah so Chicken do you think he is gone then?

he's got the greatest contract in sports history

It would only be for years of extension. No way in hell LSU goes up to $4 mil per.
For the last damn time: the buyout is only $1.25-$1.5 mil and only applies to Les going to Michigan. They would have to pay LSU.
What you mean is: what he is owed if he is fired. That is the remainder of the contract. LSU doesn't owe him a buyout.

Michigan isn't going to throw down more than we are already paying him. If they do, let him walk....coaches tenures are on average very short and to think we won't get docked in the long run with a dumb contract is ridiculous

Hope we don't give it to him

So at a minimum, this is a contract negotiation opportunity for Miles.
I think Miles is just biding time and avoiding burning bridges until Michigan makes an offer between the bowl game and next week Wednesday. Miles will accept.
