You are probably 100% correct. However, to say that Miles was ever a flop would be ridiculous. He was a pretty good hire at the time, even with the limited amount of time we had to find a coach. The post I replied to insinuated that LSU got stuck with Miles because there was no one else available.

I'm not talking about Saban leaving LSU. I can understand that one to go to the NFL. I'm talking about how Saban said over and over again "I will not be the next coach at Alabama" right before he left to become the coach of Alabama.

If Miles was leaving, like so many on this board have posted, he would have already told his team and probably the media. Also, why is he rumored to be interviewing for an OC? To take him to Michigan? Doesn't sound like a high character guy like Les Miles to me - it sounds like some butthurt/spoiled so-called LSU fan starting rumors.

How did Saban stab LSU in the back. He left for the dolphins for more money and lots of control which is almost unheard of for a college coach.

This is untrue. LSU was nothing more to Saban than another item on his resume. He was never going to make LSU his final stop. Some of you don't seem to recall the annual "will he or won't he go to the pros" farce. In his time here he was courted by the Bears, Giants, Dolphins and possibly others. At no time was LSU able to match the money offer. Money was never the ultimate decider. Saban stayed until he got the level of control he wanted. That was what tipped the scale.

You love Miles so what makes you think Miles isn't using LSU to go to Michigan(if they want hime which we don't know if they do)or his ultimate plans are to get the Michigan job?

Bad topic. In no way did Saban stab LSU in the Back, at the time he thought his dream was to coach pro ball and Miami ponied some can't say no coin. Now he may have stuck it to Miami when he left for Bama.

If Les Miles leaves for Michagan it would not be stabbing LSU the back. LSU's program is strong enough to survive a late coaching change and we all know it. Miles is a Michigan man by his own admission; I can't say I blame him for wanting to rebuild his alma mater. Miles cares for Michigan as much or more than some of you obsess over LSU, and he should. I’m not a Miles hater, I’d love Les to retire at LSU but I cannot say I will blame him for leaving for Michigan. Put in his shoes, I would return home if given the opportunity. As long as Miles continues to lead LSU with the same work ethic and integrity he shown last 6 years I will be thankful for what he has done for the football program when he does decide to leave. I felt the same way about Saban, the only reason I despise him now is because it’s a requirement.

Let’s not be overly self-righteous, before Saban and Miles LSU’s football program was mediocre at best the last 20-30 years. Through them was built a college football powerhouse that finally learned to utilize the vast resources we had under our nose in and around Louisiana. If Miles leaves we will survive, and you can thank Nick Saban and Les Miles for that.
