How does this work?
Michigan: Hello
Miles: Uh. Uh. This is Les Miles. I'm not interested in the job that hasn't become publicly available.
Michigan: OK. Bye.
Seems reasonable

Wasn't there a whole thread on this last week or so?
Yeah, but it's more germane and less Germans now that RichRod is definitely out. And now we have multiple sources. ESPN will be breaking this story any moment now...
Aight bet.

Les Miles knows without a doubt that he will have a damn strong LSU football team in 2011, especially with Mett at QB, and will challenge for the NC. Why would he give that up to go to Michigan, under NCAA sanctions and needing to rebuild badly?
Miles is quirky but he aint stupid.

Memphis is an athletic trainer at LSU FWIW.
His info has been generally correct.
Isn't Memphisplaya also the fella that said that GRobinson was an LSU lock only to see him shortly thereafter commit to Auburn?
No offense, but an athletic trainer does not have privy to get up to the minute information on business deals that are fluid and encompass millions of dollars.
Now, having said that, I don't think Miles is going anywhere...I hope not.
Posted on 1/4/11 at 4:43 pm to jimbeaux82
Because he knows it just like everyone else knows it....
Les Miles does not have job security. A large segment of the LSU nation, maybe even the majority, does not like Miles. He's a 7-5 season away from possibly getting the axe.

Memphis can't be faulted for the AU Money Train derailing LSU's lock of the century.

Really? Do you really think that more than 50% of the LSU nation does not like Miles?

Most definitely not GRob.

Back on Jan 1, Greg Swaim (Oklahoma based media dude) Tweeted this to Ponamsky:

And this followup from Swaim to Ponamsky:
There you have it, folks.
Until Miles signs a contract extension or Michigan hires a new coach, I won't believe one single word out of Les' mouth. Behind the scenes, you can bet your arse that Les is going to feel out Michigan for terms of an offer.
Makes perfect sense that Les would be interested. He's been on the hot seat at LSU and he knew full well that if RichRod didn't work out, he'd never have a better chance to make the move.

@DerekPonamsky You couldn't be more wrong on this one. Conversations have been going on between Les [Miles]' reps and [Michigan] for over a year!
And this followup from Swaim to Ponamsky:
quote:
@DerekPonamsky From Michigan media who are "friends" of Les & Kathy. One of them told me Les was leaving OSU to LSU when Les denied it.

Michigan: Fuk, not this shite again.
Miles: Huh?
Michigan: Nothing, what do you want?
Miles: Well I heard...
Michigan: YOU HEARD WRONG!
Miles: I had a dream about Coach Shembechler...
Michigan: Awww shite...
Miles: And I think maybe it was like a, like a, like a calling!!!
Michigan: Maybe it was like a nightmare?
Miles: No, I don't think so.
Michigan: Think again.
Miles: Well maybe.
Michigan: Probably.
Miles: So what should I do?
Michigan: Wait until the time is right.
Miles: It's not right now?
Michigan: No, not at all.
Miles: But I heard on the news...
Michigan: They're lying.
Miles: Really?
Michigan: frick yea. Hey, let me put you on hold for a min, ok?
Miles: Sure, ok.
30 miutes later:
Miles: Wow, there must be something wrong with this phone.

No you are confusing the idiots on the rant with the people who actually matter, the AD doesnt give a flying turd about the idiot sheep on here (thank the lord). They care about the money rolling in and as long as he is maintaining a 10 win average the money, at least the real money, will continue to roll in.
