This shouldn't be a surprise. The owner invested a ton in him (relatively speaking). He isn't going can him after just two seasons. He knew the Panthers roster needed an upgrade. Particularly at QB

People are short-sighted. If he wins they'll forget about it but I'll never understand firing a coach who was given a bad roster.

It's bad in Charlotte. Away team fans consistently outnumber home fans

Anticipating the Tiger Rant calling for Brian Kelly to be fired after the first incomplete pass next year.

That illustrated short sightedness. And lack of understanding, which may be one root cause of shortsightedness.

That is having a short memory. People, sports fams in particular, have that issue as well.

I like matt rhule as a coach but he has made some bad personnel decisions.

Sounds like they are going to try and roll with darnold next year.

I was at the game yesterday. The panthers are terrible in numerous areas. Mcaffrey was their guy to carry the O but unfortunately I don't see him contributing much for them in the future. I would be shocked if Tepper doesn't go after Watson- he doesn't tolerate losing well let along ugly losses and this would give a sense of hope to the fans who are completely checked out...shocking, I know. Rhule is on a much shorter leash than you might think.

This screams early to mid season firing next year.

no point in wasting money on a fired coach if the talent isn't there to win. losing with a good coach or bad coach is the same when it comes to $$$$$$$.

Given a bad roster? Rhule is responsible for the shitty players HE brought in, on top of the players he passed on in the draft. It all starts with the OL, which may be the worst OL in NFL history. That is not a joke, they are grading out historically bad.

He should be fired for his managing of the QB position

The team has visibly regressed under Rhule and I’d hate to see what it would look like bottoming out next year.

His mismanagement of the OL and QB positions has been comically bad. Should’ve just stuck with Cam instead of experimenting with Bridgewater and Darnold.

The players don’t seem to respect him like they did Rivera and on top of it he comes off as a squirrely slimeball.
