Not a sexy hire but a really good coach
He’s a .500 coach who beats ooc, vandy, and is .300 against teams who are 6-6 or better. He takes care of business beating teams he should but he’s not a great coach.
You can’t hire someone because there’s an illusion that he’s done good for Kentucky. Kentucky could do the same with a lot of coaches after I broke down his wins. Unless you’re happy that he goes bowling, which id certainly take at Arkansas and should be expected when you make 9 mil per year. He should be around .600-.650 for what he’s making in comparison to other coaches & salaries.

I still find it odd Kentucky brag about the guy when it’s discussed he wants to leave. Both you and Kentucky can do way better

An AD needs so many levels of approval to make a hire, especially at a place like A&m where there are so many big money guys.
Very likely Stoops just leveraged Bjork into getting a raise and now Bjork is holding his dick in his hand.

UK’s previous 10-win season was 1977. He’s done way more with way less at UK.
Mike doesn't really care. He's just fine hanging out in Lexington for 1-3 more years.
He will 100% leave when Kirk Ferentz retires. He's always wanted the Iowa job. A
He and all of his brothers played there and it's where he wants to be.

A&M wants be just like LSU so bad that little brother syndrome they have revolted and now are willing to elevate the DL coach who the players like.

We would’ve mocked Aggie for settling for Stoops, but he’s actually exactly what that program needs.
That said, bring on the DL coach

What the heck is wrong with Stoops? He’s universally respected, SEC tenured, and ready for a bigger job.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Stoops. It could be as simple as Bjork just got way out in front of his skis on this

Or Stoops knew the ins and outs at FSU and said no thanks I'll wait on Iowa.
By ins and outs you mean the potential to go 12-0 in 3 years?

Yep. Stoops would have been a nice hire
Elko would be a solid hire on paper but he’s not as proven as stoops. I’d be more confident in Stoops just bc he’s got experience but it seems the big focus is on atm ties and letting the boosters pick their guy
