Yes, he walked into one of the most stable programs in the country.

Thats irrelevant... and we've seen new coaches sh*t away good opportunities at programs with stability.

Kirby walked into a stable program.
Deboer walked into a stable program at Wash/Bama.
Lanning Walked into a stable program.
Sumrall walked into a stable program.
Etc

Stop worrying.......it's Saban or Kiffin.

And if it were Marcus Freeman, he would be a better hire than most other coaches being mentioned as possible replacements.

That only worked with Kelly. ND fans LOVE freeman and there would be no cope. Just straight melt.

Orgeron tried to hire Freeman as DC after the 2020 season.

Freeman was hired at Notre Dame as DC in January 2021. Kelly didn't leave until November 2021 and Freeman was hired as head coach at Notre Dame in December 2021.

Freeman chose the Notre Dame DC position over the LSU DC position. No reason to try to change history to support our fragile egos.

He's all but guaranteed a playoff spot every year at ND due mostly to them avoiding conference affiliation....

Like we all just learned with Brian Kelly, success at ND won't necessarily mean success in the SEC.

Ask yourself why you think Freeman would leave ND for LSU.

Better in-state recruiting and not having to deal with ND's admissions standards.

Not my first choice but I think he’s a good young coach still growing into the role.

He could be very effective here with the right support.

I’d rather him than Drink or some of the noted names floating around

I don't disagree... I guess I'm just gun shy due to BK. BK did great things at ND and just couldn't get done at LSU. The SEC is just different

That’s a fair point but I think BK thought he could just show up at LSU and talent would win for him.

Freeman is still young g and hungry and looks like he wants to put in the effort needed to win a championship.

and I really don't know why he would leave the easier championship route at ND for a harder route, through the SEC, at LSU, especially seeing what just happened with Kelly h

I don’t think he will come here but some guys like the challenge and don’t want the easy path.

Well he can’t get the same quality of athlete there that he can get at LSU because of academics and he’s been there for so many years and made the title game and can’t get over the hurdle and he’s won everywhere he goes and—

wait a second…

I’m fairly sure there is a very specific reason why some are adamantly opposed to him coaching here.

Freeman will not take us to the promised land

There is no way to know that.

As you said Ed fricking Orgeron won it and BK (infinitely more accomplished that Ed at the time the were hired at LSU) failed miserably

There are no sure things.

Not Saban
Not Lane

While not my first choice, Freeman is not objectively worse than anyone else out there outside of maybe Nick and Kirby and neither of those are coming.

Zero chance we could pull him from ND.

Zero.
