neither is Saban
Seriously? Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I think everyone regards him as one of the best defensive minds out there in addition to being a DB guru.

What happens when Saban gets to Texas and fails to build a dynasty?
They will be expecting at least what was accomplished at Bama. Anything less and these fat cats will be looking for answers.

Mack wants to go out gracefully (ironic).. i think he will announce saturday at the earliest.. don't expect ANYTHING to come from Saban before the heisman ceremony.. simple as that.

TheHorn 104.9 reported the meeting to occur this afternoon before the banquet.

I don't think what has been done at Bama can be surpassed any time soon. Not by anyone. Not by Saban at Texas. Not by Saban at Alabama.

I think this is something we all have agreed on

Saban is well above average. He struggles with mobile quarterbacks. Also, if your offense is unbalanced, like Auburn this year, he has trouble. He is very good defensively, but new schemes give him trouble. He is one of the best out there in the college ranks, but many regard college ball as second tier anyway, semi-pro.

I thought the general consensus was that Mack was a lazy recruiter?
Yeah, I think most would agree with that. In the beginning he brought in so much excitement and cultural change that he was pretty much able to cherry pick the top talent in Texas. Since 2009 or so, that strategy hasn't worked and he's left a lot of massive holes in the team.

I like his chances against Baylor, big game bob, Iowa State, and Kansas every year.

Saban of course is a great defensive mind, and develops LB's and DB's better than anyone. His biggest strength IMO is motivation and getting the most from his players. As far as offensive strategy, in game decision making, and dealing with new schematics, he's below average IMO
