He has no starting QB, will be picked third in the west next year (Sorry bama fans but Auburn returns everyone) and has won 3 natty's. If he doesn't leave now he never will

What does being picked 3rd in the west have to do with anything? Not that you are right about that to begin with.

He didn't have a starting QB going into the 2011 season either. Not one with any experience to speak of.

I think AJ's success at QB prolonged his intended stay

He just does what any QB in that system could do. Isn't that what everyone has told us?

Unreal how most Alabama fans think Saban is in "Love" with Alabama, those days are gone man. Coaching is a profession and business. The average college coach switches school every 4 years. FACT

Texas has always been the biggest dog west of Baton Rouge and short of the West Coast. Nebraska has been tough, but Texas swings a bigger bat.

Texas has a strong history, but they haven't done jack shite in 40 years. One title but you would think they would have more by listening to them.

Right, not jack shite in terms of NC except for the one but they had 6 top 6 finishes in the 2000s and was the only team to post 10 win seasons 2001-2009.

#2 all time wins. #2 all time bowl appearances. #3 all time bowl wins. 4 NCs. Another 11 if you go by Bama count.

But the real success came around the Bear Bryant years. In fact, they're pretty much where Bama was when Saban took over only a little better shape.

Alabama has the most national championships. It doesn't matter how many it is. Just use the same fair criteria for everyone, and Bama will have the most. There's no way to possibly slice it where Alabama doesn't have the most.

Just thought I should clear that up.

Shannon Terry also has connections within the agent world, and nobody there seriously thinks Saban will leave.

I get the agent side of this.

But, don't let all the recruiting talk set you up for a fall. That's part of the game.

What would worry me as a Bama fan is the fact that you're even in this position. He's already the highest paid coach, and you could easily make sure it stays that way on paper, but yet, here we are.

Waiting to see what happens once Mack resigns.

Saban has lost 3 games in 3 years on essentially the last plays of those games. Won NC's 2 of those seasons. But, he's not exactly content right now.

I'll miss him in Tiger Stadium next year, if he leaves. And I think it's likely it happens. In '07, he was 7-6, and one play from beating the eventual NC, LSU. In '08, went to the SECCG. In '09, won it all.

Texas is in a better position due to a weaker conference, with arguably better talent and definitely better recruiting ground than what he had in '07.

Texas just played for the Big 12 title this past weekend in a season they're firing the coach. Saban makes the 4 team playoff there NEXT YEAR. At Alabama, he starts a new QB in the toughest conference, and that conference actually scheduled an additional game or two versus teams with winning records next year.

GDP by State...

2. State of Texas : 1.45 Trillion
24. Louisiana: 213 Billion
25. Alabama: 174 Billion

Not even in the same league

The bolded parts I agree with totally. The unbolded ones are highly debatable with some of them being downright untrue.

Yet we're better than both in football. Both historically and now. And we have Auburn to deal with. Why has Texas done so little with so much? Why is a smaller, poorer place like Alabama - who also has to share their state with another SEC school - the top dog in football?

Thank you.

There is a pantheon of all time elite programs. Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Oklahoma, etc etc.

Texas ain't in it.

You're so misinformed.

When Saban came in, Alabama hadn't done Jack shite in decades except for the one NC. All it had was it's lofty record of all time wins, all time bowls, all time bowl appearances and it's hyperinflated count of NCs. That's exactly where Texas is today.
