The title of the Forde article "Sources: Mack Brown still coaching at Texas for now" (emphasis added)"

The article goes on to discuss the meeting with Powers and the upcoming BOR meeting.

what about the real estate that went to shite? texas offers one of the only real estate markets worth a damn in the united states and unlimited oil money for the rest of a coaches life. they can offer way more than any other school not names texas A&M

Like UCLA had to...

Texas is not a private school.

Have to play by the rules.

USC could hire - whenever and however...and keep it all secret.

alabama wont pay off his debt and they dont have any oil to offer him. Those billionaire boosters of theirs will probably give saban benefits outside of his contract

Unless Texas just goes bonkers absurd (ie. 15 million+) Bama will match it.

Even then, I feel like our boosters would find a way

It's like a Taj Mahal to Tuscaloosa. Not that it matters--but that's a fact.

Because you're just a fan.

Not remotely objective about anything you post regarding this.

curious, would Bama be willing to pay Nick $100 million over 10 years? It would be worth it, but would they do it? That's a lot of money and more money than Sean Payton (highest paid NFL coach?) makes...

Agreed it's been pretty fun today

Here's a hypothetical: let's say that Texas hires Chip Kelly for 8 million a year tomorrow (won't happen but hear me out). Doesn't Sabans contract say he has to be the highest paid coach in football? So does Bama have to re do his whole contract to match the 8 million a year or can they just up his salary without a whole new contract?
