We're not in the title game, but that's just the luck of the draw

You have to understand, Bama fans don't care about Saban leaving, they don't care about not getting to the NC, they don't care if they pull in the #1 recruiting class or not. What they do care about is being able to brag about all these things to and have the upper hand over Auburn... Auburn is the source of their hatred and pride.

All BSing aside, today really has been the most entertaining non-game day in CFB that I can remember.

There is nothing tangible UT can offer that is any better than what Alabama can offer.

All they kind offer is this kind of nebulous ideal that Austin is nicer than Tuscaloosa. Which I agree with, but I'm positive Saban doesn't give a frick about.

A desperate Texas will throw out money amounts so absurd that you almost HAVE to say yes to it.

And thats the real answer

Paying Mack Brown money, and finishing unranked? Its not that hard to imagine them busting the bank wide open

could a new contract contain only a raise?

It could but good lord, Bama is going to pay him even MORE money? Seems like he makes enough

Of course they may be giving him a raise to help fight off Texas poaching him

Guess I'm of the opinion that unless I see from a reliable source that an extension has been sitting on his desk for a few days that the lack of extension doesn't mean jackshit (many in this thread have cited it as a reason that he's gone, probably tolls but still )

This board is much more satisfying when your school isn't hiring, firing, or losing a coach.

It's just sit back and have a drink and watch the festivities.

Take it FWIW but my best friend is very involved with the L.A. Sports and Entertainment Comission and he has been told that Saban and Texas have been working on a contract since last week. He hears they are VERY close right now.
