The rule is 10 assistants plus a head coach. Total of 11 coaches.

We lost Pelini, Johnson and Busch on defense and have replaced none of them.

Glen Schumann was all the rage recently. Looked at his resume and he was only a grad assistant at Bama before Kirby hired him at Georgia. He had no track record no real coaching experience yet this stupid board is melting over Jones who has 20 time the pedigree and coaching background from high school to college to pro.

Exactly! You can be a water boy as long as you came from a big name school this board will be behind you

I honestly thought the rule was 10 coaches total. My apologies

This time it isn't about scheme, it's about the person and how he relates to the players.

Feature on Jones from Minneapolis Star-Tribune

Sounds like a serious, well respected guy.

I’m certainly not promoting him for the job, but in my cursory research, he seems like a solid coach.

"His time in Louisiana introduced him to a network of African-American mentors: Lionel Vital, now the Cowboys' college scouting director; Vance Joseph, the Cardinals' defensive coordinator; and his brother Mickey Joseph, who has coached receivers (including Justin Jefferson) the past four years at LSU."

Looking at Daronte’s resume, I don’t think he should have even gotten an interview. This is alarming on a bunch of levels

I’ll reserve judgement on this hire (if it actually happens) but it is definitely out of left field.

Bowie State. Not Boise.

I guess someone misread, as I’ve seen that posted multiple times.

Never a DC except high school. Boise St website doesn't show him as ever being DC. False news.

As a DB coach, sure. We already have one of those.

Miami DL coach is Jess Simpson, who went to Auburn and apparently was a dominant HS coach in Georgia
