Who is Meyer Andy Saban? Sounds like a guy that was on the Disney channel in the 90's.

Their sights are on national championship caliber, proven head coaches,” a source with knowledge told FootballScoop this morning. During the initial, exploratory phase, we are told to expect LSU, through representatives, to gauge the interest of some of the top coaches in college football, including Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Bob Stoops, Jimbo Fisher and Tom Herman. Right or wrong, sources tell FootballScoop that LSU believes they will be able to attract a coach of that caliber.

People that throw shite at the wall and just say sources need to be punched in the dick

These articles are being written without ANY sources. The author of that article, made all of that up, to garner clicks. It is pathetic and is what journalism has become.

I don't think Saban is going to have to pretend to want to coach here to get a raise.

If you make a phone call to Jimmy Sexton, you "gauge the interest" of most of the top coaches in America in a matter of minutes..

"Here are the assets LSU offers in trying to attract the right coach:

Ability to win championships
Compensation for you & your staff
National championship level recruits in your backyard
As passionate a fan base as you could possibly want
B level facilities
Some excellent assistant coaches already under contract"

What utter fricking stupidity. Meyer or Saban are going to be attracted because LSU has "some excellent assistant coaches under contract"??? Not to mention B facilities? This clown of a blogger talks like he was 16 years old the last time a big job came open.

Urban has already responded by saying he's going to be the coach at Ohio State.

Saban has already responded by criticizing the mid-season firing of a guy with Miles' resume; sounds pretty clear that he doesn't approve of the business model and would want no part in it.

Saban's response is a little bit worrisome. He's safe and secure enough to be able to voice things without worrying. I wonder who else might be thinking "I'm glad I don't work for those asses"?

I can remember a Dolphins coach saying he wouldn't take the Bama job.

Saban constantly uses the media to communicate to his players. In this case, he is sending a message to the LSU athletic department. As long as LSU boosters are allowed to interfere with football policies, it is unlikely LSU will get a good coach.Even if they do get a good one, they probably won't be able to keep him. I don't know anything about LSU's ad, but I do know Miles had to deal with weird contract clauses for his assistants. That is no way to run a program. If LSU wants to be an every year contender like Alabama, they need to give a coach complete control of all things football. If LSU's ad fails to realize this and doesn't stand up to the boosters when the setbacks occur, then LSU will end up more like Texas, USC and Notre Dame. Better than average, but not where they should be.

Hey, Saban has an ego, what just for the hell of it, he just wants to return & get championships for LSU before he retires? One thing I realize in the world of football- ANYTHING is possible...

Saban nor Meyer will be at LSU. I'm not sure LSU could win a bidding war with either school.
