Tulane may have raised it's profile enough that it takes established coaches, doesn't need to take a chance on a coordinator. But might make exception for Baker since he's alumn

Tulane grads - lots of whom are lawyers - would be very unhappy if their HC would be poached to LSU.

He won’t be their coach next year regardless, so why does it matter if it’s at LSU, Arkansas, etc

Unbelievable that this is a factor in our HC search

Dan Lanning - understands there is a supposed massive buyout. let Oregon prove it exists
Marcus Freeman

Now way any one of these is stepping in to a dumpster fire.

Lanning has no chance of leaving, as he already declined Alabama a couple years back. I think there is a small shot at Freeman on the other hand. He was going to take the DC job at LSU until Notre dame countered with the head position. Still not sure how he would value the head job at LSU vs ND though.

I think it’s both

Rumor is the contractual buyout for Oregon isn’t crazy. However Lanning apparently has Nike endorsement deals that have a large buyout if he chooses not to be the coach.

caveat is this is likely very unpalatable for Landry. bad optics to remove HC of Tulane and install at LSU when you want to win re-election and get votes out of New Orleans.

LOLOLOLOL up town Tulane liberals aren't voting for Jeff Landry, regardless of what the Tulane football coach does.

If you look at the results map, Orleans is the darkest blue parish in all of the state.

Meaning they voted over 80% for Wilson.

Landry didn't need New Orleans to win.

85% of Tulane students are from out of state. No one gives a frick what they think.

This Dan Lanning stuff is funny. You aren't stealing a coach from Nike money.

You can take Lanning off the board for now. Plus why would any sane person leave the Pacific Nortwest for the Gulf South.....all financial things being equal.

Agreed. I believe there are big financial backers in New Orleans that won't appreciate poaching their coach. That's definitely an internal state political hot potato. Shame though, I think he'd be a good coach.
