LSU got better at every position.

This has been a great cycle for LSU coaches. Realistically, all LSU coaching hires, across all sports, were really solid hires.
Specifically football, Woodward made a great HC hire in Kelly. Then Kelly continued that momentum with solid hires across the board.
Honestly, I expect a huge improvement right away. I've learned to temper my expectations with LSU, but I think the pieces are in place for LSU to win right now.

Agree with the exception of DB coach. I can’t think of anyone that would be an improvement over Raymond

Our staff could potentially be:
Defense:
Cooks
Steeples
House
Cain
Offense:
Davis
Wilson
Denbrock
Hankton
Sloan (ETA)
Special Teams:
Polian
Peetz would be the biggest ??? for me but no staff is lights out across the board in every position. That would be a very good staff with great teachers and recruiters on both sides of the ball.

I agree with this over peak Raymond. Not sure we were getting that anymore, especially recruiting.

I think peetz is going to be the qb coach probably.
It's a pretty strong staff. I just wish he would've gone in a different direction than cooks at db coach.

I just don't understand the Cooks hire.
Wilson, House, and Cain are all outstanding hires. Cooks oversaw atrocious secondaries in Oklahoma and was going backwards in his career (assistant DC --> safeties coach --> defensive analyst).
You're telling me that LSU couldn't find a DB coach better than Cooks with all the money we're throwing around for other assistant coaches?

Who was Raymond before he coached at LSU?
Our DB play the last two years hasn’t been very DBU like. Time to learn who made who.

I didnt think he has officially been named DB coach?

Peetz (if retained) and Cooks are definitely the weakest links.
I really liked the steeples hire. I feel like he has a very high ceiling but we may have some growing pains with him out of the gate.
House gives me some comfort there though because I believe he has coached every defensive group at least once during his coaching career so I think he will be a big asset for the rest of the staff.

BK needs to hire an army of high end analysts like Bama and UGA

I don't think LSU's secondary has been that good lately. That said, it's hard to blame that on Corey Raymond when we don't know how much negative influence Ed O had on the defense.
I think we'll miss his recruiting prowess more than his coaching ability.

Then you aren't a very good thinker.
Raymond got comfortable

First of all don't any of you guys know how well Cook will do with the talent he will have at his disposal at LSU. Plus he will have an outstanding front seven on defense to help out the secondary, with that being said, how about we let him coach in an actual game before we label him a bust.

I didn't think you were allowed to say this on here.
He could've just brought cooks over as an analyst.

I'm not saying it's a given at all. Maybe Denbrock will get to pick his QB coach which is why we haven't hired one yet.
Would definitely be puzzling to keep him considering Kelly has replaced just about every coach related to the old regime.
Peetz definitely jumped in to this OC role before he was prepared to handle it but maybe he's a good QB coach. I really don't know if he is or not though. If Kelly keeps him I would guess that means he at least impressed Kelly enough to stay.

I haven't seen where any determination has been made with regard to Jake Peetz.
Plus, Peetz might make a good position coach. He was just not a good play caller.
