LSU has two analysts more qualified than Raymond to run a defense

And Bill Busch

I don’t see any scenario Raymond is DC.

LSU is not the place to break in a 1st time DC.

I agree. I just said I wouldn’t be opposed to him being a symbolic co-DC, assuming a real DC was hired. I would prefer not, but if that’s what it took to keep him, I would be OK with it.

In no way do I want Corey Raymond being the actual DC.

Those analysts are both over 60.

I’ll agree that Bill Busch is more qualified.

Raymond has the history at the school and likely more leverage.

That’s not saying that’s who I want and I don’t think either are likely but if I were to put money down on one of them it would be Raymond.

LSU is going to hire a proven experienced DC IMHO

the SEC West...is not for beginners...

Raymond has never been a DC, I am sure he knows a ton of football, but I don't see it happening...LSU is a big job

No one expects or wants that to happen, outside of some players.

I have no idea whether or not Raymond is capable of being a DC, but I’m curious why some of you think he would be good? Just because he’s a name you know?

Bill Busch-DC

Corey- retained as db coach with a niiiice salary bump.

Kevin Coyle- promoted from analyst to Lb coach

Cyborg, how old are you? You symbolic DC but not the real DC is an immature concept and do you think a phantom job is something that would appease Raymond. He would have to be as dense as you to believe this.

The frick the does that matter?

Raymond has no leverage to get the DC job. If he throws down a “promote me to DC or I’m bouncing” ultimatum, it will be “tyfys, but deuces.” He’s gonna get a nice raise and extension and likely be cool with that. But he ain’t gonna be DC.

Still don’t think he takes it. Remember Raymond was offered Co-Dc from UGA last year and didn’t go.

Players had experience with CEO as interim HC. He immediately made a significant cultural change in the program and they bought into it.

Conversely, players lobbied Mike Archer. He never made it his own instead just trying to go on with Arnsparger''s program. What worked for Arnsparger didn't work for Archer. It ran out of gas after two years.

This is the guy. Talking about anyone else is a waste of time at this point tbh.

We basically had co-ocs this year between 2 guys so it can work if the chemistry is there.

It’s rare that it does work as well as we just saw, and it does require the kind of really strong chemistry and lack of ego that Ensminger and Brady showed.

IF we are gonna promote someone...I’d rather have Busch for the continuity and he is a good recruiter and has done it before...

...plus there has been some talk that some of the D improvement late season was when O and Busch pushed a bit about game plans and had a hand in changing things.

I’d be very happy with The Dallas guy though.
