Over a week since the Orgeron hire. Not a single official press release regarding Aranda's new deal. No confirmation that he is defintiely staying. Not a peep about OC candidates, not even a sauce with a list of potential candidates to be interviewed.

I know I'm an idiot/pussy/cuck for thinking Aranda isn't a done deal, but if it's true, then why not put something out to reassure recruits that there is continuity on the staff? There is no strategic reason not to make a statement saying terms have been reached, and a million strategic reasons why it's bad not to.

I'm not saying he's definitely leaving, but there is smoke at this point.

Maybe it is being approved.

Very true. And Texas hasn't named a DC either that I am aware of.

Well, O has a presser at 5:30. He may say something of relevance.

HE HAS ALREADY AGREED TO THE TERMS OF THE NEW CONTRACT. THE CONTRACT MUST BE APPROVED BY THE BOARD.

Maybe silence is a good thing. Whenever we hear good news it doesn't actually come to fruition

"The LSU Athletic department is pleased to announce that. Dave Aranda will be returning as Defensive Coordinator. We have agreement with coach Aranda pending final approval by the Board of Supervisors. This new contract is reflective of the incredible success Coach Aranda has brought to our defense, and we look confidently to the future knowing that Coach Aranda will be leading our defense"

Would that be so hard?

How about Dave Arranda telling recruits in person or over the phone?

Could that work?

Either way, he's still under his original contract......which was SIGNED. He can leave at any time regardless......so why keep freaking out?

Horse shite, did Orgeron's contract need to be approved? They sure have the info out about his contract and we all know, no one was coming to hire Orgeron away from us as a power 5 HC.

The things that make me feel less nervous are exactly that Aranda out on the trail recruiting and that other fact that Aranda just doesn't seem like the kind of guy who agrees to a contract and then backs out of the deal.

The other thing is that I can think of is the LSU doesn't want to put the numbers out regarding what Aranda is making until after they hire the OC and I truly feel that is the reason.

LOL at you for thinking a school would release a list of OC candidates.

Aranda is our DC. Why would LSU issue a release that he is still our DC? The only news is if something changes. Peveto fired? Press release. That's the only change so far.

Look I have been extremely worried about why the Aranda deal has not been put out in the media yet because Aranda is so key to the success of the defense at LSU, and LSU's admins know that also.

So I honestly think the biggest reason Aranda's deal has not been announced as to the terms of the deal is that they are keeping it under wraps until after they sign the OC. I am assuming LSU's admins don't want an OC candidate to use Aranda's deal as leverage against them.

How dare they not openly discuss athletic department business with the rant. Fire them all.

Fwiw I saw Aranda and the rest of the coaching staff out last night enjoying Lauberge... I assume that means he's not going anywhere
