Source: #Baylor is likely to hire Ron Roberts as defensive coordinator. A deal is not yet final but could be later today. Roberts has been DC at #Louisiana the past two seasons. He's a mentor of new #Baylor coach Dave Aranda, who worked for Roberts at Delta State in 2007.

He’s had quite the quick trajectory the last few years

He was also at the championship parade on Saturday. Will be interesting to see how that plays out

Yeah. I was wondering if Roberts would have been a guy we looked at to replace Aranda.

Great news if true. I'd love for Busch to stay at LSU.

I was afraid this would happen. He’s a great defensive coordinator. We had our first competent defenses in a long time under him. Patrick Toney will be promoted.

The rebrand is working surprisingly well. I’ve never seen ULL get called Louisiana more than I have in the last 2 weeks

Yeah, it's a big push - I literally never heard anyone seriously refer to the Cajuns as "Louisiana" before a couple of weeks ago.

Look, I was going to go with a ULL joke but just didn't care enough.

This makes sense. They go way back, even though I don't think they've ever worked on the same staff. (nevermind. It clearly says they worked together at Delta St.)

Has he hired an OC yet?

Vast majority of TV announcers did during our games. Several of the “new breakers” tweeting about Napier and Miss State did.

Sorry, but this is not some hopping on LSU’s NC win thing. This has been a push by the current athletic administration since Maggard was hired three years ago.

I was a student at Southeastern when Ron Roberts was hired and got a couple chances to sit down and talk with him. Awesome guy, great coach. He will do well with Aranda.
