you are white-knighting for the coaching prowess of a man who just tried to decline an ineligible receiver downfield penalty when the opposing offense got a first down from a completed pass and had to be talked out if by the referee.
Here we go again. Trying to change the narrative. I'm ignorant but you can't support your statements. Going as far as saying Louisville is a program superior everyone in the conference compared to Texas and their conference. That's radical. I didn't realize Louisville was such a dominant program that anyone can win there. Why didn't they win before strong? Obviously you don't have to be a good coach to win there! Lmao

UT is totally run by the boosters. Thats why it took so long to dump Mack Brown (the boosters loved him, he gave them lots of access, etc.) Charlie Strong doesnt seem like that kind of guy. He's hard nosed, all business, and trying to change the culture of the program. That doesnt happen overnight, but i dont think the boosters will have as much patience with him since he doesnt give them all the attention that Brown did.
Further motivation is the chance to get the up and coming Herman who is sitting on their doorstep.
UT will look bad either way on this one.

That is an insane statement. This decision will go all the way up to Admiral McRaven. Go read about him, and ask yourself if he seems like the kind of guy who will be pushed around by boosters.

With Texas positioning themselves to fire Strong at the end of the year, tells me that the media really does dislike LSU. Last year when LSU tried to fire Miles, the media was all over the university and fans. When Les was fired this year, there was still some media retards trying to make LSU out as the villain. Strong has only had 2 seasons, and while Texas is not playing well, they are getting better than they were under Brown. Why is the media not ripping Texas?

So you think boosters don't seem to have a bigger role in the UT program than other big programs? Because Red certainly seems to have a big fricking mouth and insert himself in places the AD probably doesn't want him.

Will be a mistake to fire him. This is only his third year. People ask for results too fast in today's world. I program has to be built from the ground up when you allow someone to completely destroy it!

Following up on this. Can anyone give me any reason for the media to hate LSU?
There seems to be this huge delusion on here that we are hated by the media, but I've never heard an actual reason for this to be case.
There will be article written about Charlie being cut too fast if/when something happens.

I haven't read most of these posts but I'm only going to assume that anyone wondering WHY Strong is on the edge of being fired did not watch the Texas-Oklahoma State game on Saturday. Even ignoring the issues that Texas had on offense under Strong, ignoring how bad the program was left by Mack, ignoring the defensive issues last year and this year...the consistent mental mistakes by him (and I suppose his staff) in game management, including time out usage, understanding penalty acceptance/decline basics, and the flat out unwillingness (apparently) to field competent special teams that were on full display in Saturday's game (continuing patterns started in 2014) is why he's going to get canned.
I have not seen a coaching staff make so many mistakes in those areas as I did on Saturday - ever. There are junior high programs (and certainly high school programs) in Texas that don't make these kind of errors - especially game after game. Flabbergasting is the only word to describe it.

Enjoy the next three years of shite talent then. Going to be miserable having to blow it up again.
Why would any kid sign with Texas? They've been threatening to fire Strong for 2 years now. The assistants must have a tough time going into homes and trying to tell those kids they've developed relationships with they'll be around.
Texas is a toxic culture all the way around.

Texas fans are still not humbled by their losing years. They think they deserve instant success.
Makes me want to root against them again. I hope they botch the next hire again and stew in their impatient misery, if they fire Strong.
Guy can't even get a clean 3 years without being bashed. As if Texas was anything great before he got there.

Admiral McRaven To-Do List:
1) Kill Osama bin Laden
2) Hire Herman

Of course there will be. Again, the Miles situation is COMPLETELY different than Strong.
Miles walked into a full cupboard, an established program without issues, and coached 12 years at that school.
Strong walked into a shite hole dumpster fire, with an impatient angry fan base who expected instant success less than 3 years into his time.
A Strong fire would be stupid, just stupid and prove Texas is not committed to continuity and long term success. Unfortunately for them, this isn't the NFL.

They don't hate Lsu, they're just ok with Lsu being mediocre and don't understand why we aren't ok with it too.

He hasn't - and he won't until the end of the year depending on how the rest of the season goes. It's certainly not a foregone conclusion although Saturday's game sure makes it more likely. Hard to fathom having 2 weeks to prepare, to fix problems, and then playing worse. Along with the coaching mental miscues and poor special teams play that have been a hallmark of his time here and are largely independent of how bad Mack left it (and it was very bad, especially on the offensive side).

Right. My point was just that UT and LSU will get the same treatment over their decisions. People like narratives and the "Do X University fans have delusional expectations?" Narrative gets a lot of clicks.
