Let's say Texas offered Saban $70 million over 10 years...

Do you think he would take it?
And do you think he would be a good fit at UT?
Heard some rumblings that Texas will be a little desperate to replace Mack at some point...with no clear option on a replacement, they may have to open the pocket book to land a big fish.
The big fish was going to be Urban Meyer, until Tressel got fired.
I really think that Bama is Saban's last stop, but do you think the money and the potential to win titles at three different schools are too alluring?

Yes...and then Harvey would poison his statue.

I think if it was 40-50 for 5 years he would consider it. I think Saban has proven he can go just about anywhere in college USA and succeed. FL? Meh.
He would do well there with the recruiting grounds of Texas, Most kids love UT, add Saban to the mix and poof success.
I don't like him, but respect the fact he is successful at what he does.

Please dont forget...
Saban is almost 60 Years old. His fire to turn around and compete may be getting a bit dimmer in the next few years. His ultimate goal is his lake house. Not three national champs at three schools.
Texas should go for Art Bryles.
He has never coached outside of Texas, Used to be a HS coach in Texas, Can spot talent and put it in right position(RG3), made Houston and BayloR into winners.
And the biggest reason why they should go for Art Bryles is.....
.... Texas could commit an extra $3 million to the top assistants in the game.
Why give all that dough to one great coach when you can spread it around a great staff.

Can we start a "What if" coaching change board?

i don't think that he would leave bama for texas. but, boy if he did....the longhorns would be a powerhouse of epic proportions in a few years. imagine the recruiting.

Serious question here, how come Miles name is never brought up with these other teams?
Yeah I know Saban has been known to move around and all,but if we're talking about one of the top coaching jobs in the nation, why is Miles name not thrown out more? He's a top flight coach imo..
Younger than Saban, has proved he can recruit and win as much as Saban, what am I missing here?

No I don't think he takes 10/$70. I think it would have to be 6/$60 at a minimum. Personally, I don't think he leaves for another school. I think he stays at Bama 2-3 more years and retires to the booth. He loves the camera.

This is most likely the biggest reason. Miles name has popped up a couple of times, but other programs know they can't compete with Death Valley sod.

A guy I play golf with (who is likely full of shite) insists that Texas is coming after Saban either this year or the next. He keeps bringing up Saban's bad business deals and Texas' ability to make them go away + a bigger salary.
I make fun of him every time this horseshite flies out of his mouth but it doesn't seem to faze him.

This is the first Saban to Texas thread that didnt start off with 80 insecure Bama fans screaming at how it would never happen, Saban is loyal to them, they wouldnt even consider that notion as a possibility blah blah blah
Good job Chicken
Good job Chicken
