What if Harbaugh to Michigan is being floated with the NFL timeline you listed to provide cover for Miles to get past the bowl game.
Why would this even be necessary?

If both Michigan and Miles knew that he was going to be their next coach they'd go ahead and say it because it would be better for both universities. There's no reason at all to create some elaborate cloak and dagger story involving another coach to cover it up.

So you dont think it would be outlandish for me to say LSU could give harbaugh 14 mil a year to be our coach?

still obscene pay, though.

That Michigan will pay Harbaugh whatever it takes? Ya, they understand the situation. Not sure why yall dont. Pretty simple.

Link to where I said that?

I don't think money is an issue, I think taking the step down back to college is. That and the fact that NOBODY outside of Ann Arbor is mentioning it as a serious possibility.

Ive never said it was happening. Just that money wont be an issue if it were to happen.

I can tell you that he is considering it, and hasnt told Michigan no.

I like Trey, and even though I think Michigan has the cash to do it (I think Ross donated $100 mill to the athletic department last year and they generally print money), I just can't see the powers that be throwing around that kind of cash. There are too many people who care about the image of the place as an academic institution to let that happen IMO. I suspect Trey knows some things and it is coming off as trolling or arrogance. I would be stunned as anybody else see see Harbaugh get $8 mil.

Im really struggling to understand why anyone thinks I am trolling. For some reason yall think Michigan is some poor school that cant pay elite coaches market value.

If it were a serious possibility there would almost certainly be at least some smoke from the NFL people, like there was with Saban.

It wouldnt be 8 mil from the University, just like Saban doesnt get 6.5 from the University.

just me, but i wouldn't ban anyone from this board.

the very fabric of it is rumors, innuendo, and straight up misinformation.

that's why i love it.

That is obvious because they haven't offered Miles yet.

I'm sure if Harbaugh said meet this number then Michigan would do it, but I don't think money is the primary motivator for Jim.
