Les Miles to Arkansas never made sense for either side

I conclude that Miles was never offered.
Long had already said we wouldn't make a hire until next week.
It's crazy to think there was any chance Miles would accept the bad PR that would come from jumping ship, just to be at a slightly better program.
It was never going to happen.

I agree. It was a forward move but not by much.

Les just isn't at that point in his career to move to a destination job.

yep
national media would have torn him apart for leaving LSU for second rate Arky
all we heard that day was why would Miles leave a program for LSU for a program like Arkansas
followed by loud laughter, kinda like Mark Hamill's Joker laugh

Arkansas has shown more capability to produce men's national titles than LSU.
Sorry you mad.

I conclude you think denial is just a river in Egypt.
The offer happened. If Miles had accepted, well and good for Arky. And even if he didn't, which Long had to think was the likliest outcome, a message was sent.
Namely, that Arkansas is willing to break the bank to hire the best coach possible. Somewhere, some big-name coach sat up and took notice of that $27 million, five year deal.
It will pay off for you.

the gist of that- the part of showing the money will provide a benefit later- was said many times the other day but i guess it's not truth unless it comes from the mouth of an lsu fan 2 days later or something.
