He’s been pretty good at FTs up until then. If he’s able to get to the line like that consistently for the rest of the year, we are going to win a lot of games

I would go down to 6 even.

Back to 2 as God intended.

Put the big bowl games back on new years
Not that surprising to me. That Tech team is good. We just played an A game vs them and played a D vs Houston

 let me guess, they both like pizza too

For now we shouldn't be scheduling Notre Dame, Utah, etc

It should be Boston College, Northwestern, Minnesota, Kansas State, Purdue. Schools in the same type of class as where we currently are.

Yes especially with the 9 conference game schedule.

Is it still going to be a requirement to schedule a p4 team?

What I'm saying is you have to look at what the wins are specifically

Going 6-6 plus bowl win in a year where you don't play any good teams out of conference, that's a failure. Even though you got to 7 wins.

The covid year where we went 3-7 was a better outcome for the outlook of the program than most liberty bowl type seasons.

So.... An average of 7.2 wins. We're really arguing about winning 6 or winning 7?

Huh? We are arguing about winning games vs scrimmages

I think our starting point/baseline should look something like this...

Win your non-conference games. You get an exception if you have a nonconf game vs an opponent that finishes ranked in the top 25

Go .500+ vs the teams you play from the below group:

Vandy, Mizzou, Kentucky, A&M (I know they are good right now, but this is a completely backward and retarded program that should never be feared, regardless of $), Ole Miss, Miss State, South Carolina

Win 1 game from the following:

Texas, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida

If we did that since 2018 our record would have been:

8-4
8-4
-skipping covid year-
7-5
8-4
7-5
7-5
6-6

You're telling me finishing 2-10 would have you feeling the same way as 7-6?

What does that 7-6 mean?

3 rent-a-wins and a scrimmage win to end the season?

So we went 3-6 in legitimate games. 2-6 vs teams we have to compete against year in and year out. That's not an achievement. It's better than going 0-8 but the difference isn't as huge as you're making it out to be.

Bowl games mean nothing now. I'm not exaggerating - literally nothing. Good teams don't even want to participate in some of the better ones. Good players definitely don't. I wish it wasn't that way but it is.

f we had gone to and won 3 straight bowl games would you or would you not feel better about where we are?

I'd feel good if we had won more conference games. The bowl games would have no impact on my outlook. Sam beating Penn State and Kansas in pretend games are a big part of the reason we kept him 2 years too long. Our fanbase and administration need to accept that these games no longer mean anything.

So when I say let's start with 3 straight years of winning a bowl game.... That doesn't seem so bad

That's like an NFL team saying they're going to focus on winning their preseason games

d maybe top 5

Hard to claim with 2 losses right now

I’d definitely love to have another shot at Michigan State though. I think we could beat them now
Truly perplexing to me how Kenpom has our strength of schedule so far ranked ~75th

Pretty sure you remember and might actually admit how much Cal was despised by Arkansas fans.

Whole lotta turd eating going on down there.

You implying that our hatred had anything to do with his coaching?

We hated him because he ended the Memphis rivalry and basically said we weren't at high enough level to play anymore.

It was actually a pretty smart move as it locked us out of Memphis recruiting where we had been active before (Todd Day, Corey Beck and others). Not sure we had a major player out of the Memphis area after that until Billy (Goat) Richmond

Enjoy the regular season win.

Just want to take a moment to appreciate how mad this fellow is.
Personally not worried about him. This team is going to have different guys step up at different times. ~35% is not bad on his volume. I believe twice recently he's been fouled on 3s that he made all 3 free throws from
I liked that we kept making him earn it. No easy ones for the most part. It really paid off toward the end when he slowed down
Huge. Tech is better than Louisville IMO. They played really well and were allowed to travel as much as they wanted. Still got the W
