I would prefer to bring Tenuta in now, with 5 weeks to learn our personnel and terminology. However, allowing Bo to coach shouldn't be bad. OSU is not a spread offense with a running threat at QB. I do not think blitzing will be the key to this one. Stopping their straight ahead running game is the key. Therefore, I think Bo will do a good job. If we were playing Oregon (with Dixon) I would say bye bye Bo, hello Tenuta.

Bo is gonna do his best. He wants the championship. Having that cache' will help him in recruiting and with the fans and media in Nebraska. He usually has a week to gameplan and now he has more than 4. We will be better off with him than without

Disagree completely. He'll be too focused on moving to Nebraska, recruiting, etc. to spend this full time on the title game.

I don't think I like this.

I think it will be fine...I am sure most of the defensive staff have input into the defensive game plan anyway...Pelini wants the ring bad...And I am sure that Nebraska wants him to get that ring.

What is the realistic alternative to Pelini not coaching?

I read something about a couple of other coaches on the defensive staff picking up his responsibilities. (It was an article somewhere, not the rant)

This is not good. I don't have a problem with Bo being a defensive consultant for us during the dead period, but he should not coach in this game. Mark Richt admitted he was not totally focused when he coached for FSU after taking the UGA job.

I say bad.

And not because I hate Bo. But because lame duck coaches in bowl games always seem to flop. His loyalties will be divided and if you thought he was distracted going into the Arkansas game... imagine now.

Just not a fan.

I agree. Tom Osborne has and will be running things at Neb for while. Bo will have plenty time time to focus on LSU. Bo's ring is more important to Neb(recruiting and proving they got the right guy) than it is to Bo.

I don't like this at all.

Sadly, however, I think this may be what gives LSU the best chance. There is not a strong obvious choice among our defensive coaches to step up to gameplan and call the defense during the game, is there?

I think cooridinators are much different than Head Coaches here. And I'm not buying that he won't be focused. He's obviously a pretty smart man, I'm sure he can handle both. I mean, you can only watch so much film. He's gonna want to win this game badly, it can only help him begin his reign at Nebraska.

We'll be happy to borrow you guys our coach, he'll do fine, relax. Just as has been said, he will want to win this one real bad and......Give us a reason up here in N to root for the Tigers although I already do!!! D.

It will give Bo an edge with recruiting when he helps lead LSU to a NC, and that will help NU thats why Tom O is ok with it.

Really?

Richt left FSU in 2000 and still tried to coach the nc game - their offense floundered.

Mike Stoops left OU in 2003 before the Big 12 championship - and they suffered there on out.

There's several others.

There are positives and negatives to each situation. Just can't decide which is better or worse...

I agree with these guys 1) the motivation is there: winning will help him in his recruiting and when competing against OU, OSU, Texas and others, he'll need all the edge he can handle and 2) how long does it really take to game plan an opponent like OSU?
