Leach reminds me of the college version of Mike Martz...expert, crazy smart as an OC; no interest in the PR stuff associated w/ HC jobs.
Difference is Leach was a better HC. Won't be on the market that long.

This is correct..
I can see Leach at a program like Louisville or Cincy very soon..
And no one is saying this...but, didn't Texas Tech hire a guy named Bob Knight?...a notorious a-hole with a record for bad treatment of players, fans, students, etc...but a proven winner?

Let’s be fair in comparing Leach and Miles, since they were there at the same time. Leach was hired in 2000, Miles in 2001. Since miles was there for four years, it’s fair to compare their first four seasons.
First, let’s not pretend Tech and Okie St are equals. When Miles took the job, Okie St had just one winning season since 1988. The previous 4 years, OSU was 21-24. Tech hadn’t had a losing since 1992 when Leach was hired, he took over a mildly successful program with a record over the previous 4 years of 26-20.
Leach’s first four years:
7-6, 7-5, 9-5, 8-5
31-21 overall
+5 wins to previous 4 year stretch
Miles’ four years:
4-7, 8-5, 9-4, 7-5
28-21 overall
+7 wins to previous 4 year stretch
Draw your own conclusions, but if nothing else, they seem pretty close. It’s splitting hairs on who was better.

You conveniently left out Leach crushing Miles on three separate occasions. OSU's 21-24 record and TT's 26-20 record is a total difference of 4.5 games over 4 years. That's 1 win per season in favor of TT. Let's not pretend Leach took over a powerhouse.
