quote:This has been going on for 2 years. Where there's smoke there's fire. There's got to be a reason why they couldn't wait to get rid of the best coach in their history. And jumped on the first opportunity to do so. Possibly a weak opportunity, cause i'm not so sure what he did was that terrible. But that just makes my point. That they were just waiting for ANY slip up
so you're point is that other schools shouldn't want him because he was an a-hole to the Texas Tech administration?

Because the entire Texas Tech administration took a huge ego blow during the contract negotiations and that caused them to develop an agenda.

You are saying multiple things.
quote:Yes because he basically held out for 10 months until they were forced to meet his demands. Some "professionals" act more like children and get their feelings hurt. This is precisely what the TT situations seems like.
why because they had to pay him?
quote:I don't think him coming to LSU is viable. But if it was, LSU wouldn't have to decide today. They'd have time to investigate the situation and make a judgment based on that.
To be on the safe side, I'd say, "No thanks, Mr. Leach".
quote:Things like this are said often without any backing. I'm sure LSU would still have balance regardless and having the 7th ranked offense (TT) is leaps and bounds better than the 107th ranked offense (LSU).
And I don't think that all pass/no run would work here.
quote:You are reading too much into the situation. If by some chance Leach became LSU's OC, it's not that he would have total control.

quote:agreed but i read more letters supporting leach from former players and coaches than there were quotes from players against leach. there are always players that don't like a coach for some reason (lack of playing time, etc.)
maybe stupid, maybe not. U nor I knows the entire situation

quote:He would be controversial but an awesome coach and do things with LSU's talent we thought would never happen. He would be 100 times better than Miles but would flame out or get fired within 5 years. He's an eccentric genius.
Do you really want a guy like this at LSU??????

quote:i'm just basing my call on what is being said in the media. I know they always blow shite up, but it's the only way we get info. Maybe he's a great guy. Maybe he's misunderstood

There is more evidence that he would succeed than fail, but nothing is guaranteed.
But I don't see him and Miles getting along. Even if the James stuff is exaggerated, Leach is a strange guy and probably not the best team player for LSU's current situation.

Rather him than Miles, honestly.
geeeez, that is incredible. miles may not be the best coach in the land, but he's not only better than Leach, he's significantly better. Leach doesn't even have a conference title much less a national championship. he's an 8-4 guy just about every year.

he is at Texas Tech, not LSU.
Compare Leach at TT vs Miles at Okie State

leach was that program.

Leach had a 84-43 .661 winning percentage at Texas Tech, including no losing seasons, an 11 win season, 6 8+ win seasons and 8 7+ win seasons in eight years.
Miles had a 28-21 .571 winning percentage at Oklahoma State including a losing season, one 9 win season 2 8+ win seasons and 3 7+ win seasons in four years.
Miles and Leach went head-to-head 4 times. Leach won 3 of those 4 games by large margins.
I'm curious as to where you guys come up with your arguments. Thin air is my guess.

no. just no.

If Pitt doesn't upset WV and OU doesn't beat Mizzou, neither does Miles.

Texas Tech, man. Texas Tech.

Thats probably not even a fair comparison to Leach either.

Leach was never a good football player. Miles was a good college lineman. There is a big difference. I cannot imagine someone of his caliber pulling such blunders. Leach does not look like a coach, and probably does not understand being a coach, but is awesome at his O job. He and Dietzel would do well on the same staff.

I have no idea where you people get this drivel, but ok. It's not hard to understand.
Miles, in 2006, took a team with 8(and counting) NFL Draft picks(4 in the 2007 first round) and went 11-2 w/ BCS bowl victory. The QB of this team was the very first pick in the draft.
Leach, in 2008, took a team with 2! NFL draft picks and won 11 games, and ruined Texas' run at an NC. The QB of this team went undrafted.
But, truth be told, Leach would not fit in very well at LSU. He's way way too smart for your avg Boudreaux/Thibodeaux from south Louisiana.
Probably why most of the people here seem to spout BS out of their arse when talking about Leach.
