i get this but i think it could backfire

he's going to be seen as a savior-type and what, exactly, will be expected of him? if the fanbase accepts they can be a slightly better version of Wisconsin, then I agree he's good. but if they think they can be what they were at the end of Osbourne's reign? i could see total unrealistic expectations of their "Savior" leading to a messy situation

I bet that in 1958 when Bear Bryant left A&M for Alabama, people thought he was nuts too. Bama hadn't won that much since Bryant was a player there either, but when Mama calls, you go home.

All we want (for now) is to win the west and compete for (and eventually win) the B1G championship. Very doable. Nebraska has talent — Tristan Gebbia, Tyjon Lindsey, and JD Spielman (who should be a freshman All-American) to name a few...

Word is that he met with his team last night (due to the rumors) and told them he has not signed anything yet... basically just trying to keep them focused on their final two games.

Exactly — he could take the easy route and stay in Florida where it’s much easier to recruit... but if he succeeds at Nebraska, the payoff will be much greater.

Nebraska is not coming back to prominence.

Get real, they can be a good program but being amongst the elite on a yearly basis is never coming back. Sooner you accept that, the better.

Nebraska has no talent - give me a break. You might eventually win the division, but it's like Mizzouri playing against the likes of Alabama in the Championship game. Foregone conclusion

With the right coach, Nebraska can win the Big 10, and can recruit nationally with the right HC. This is a GREAT opportunity for Frost.

While I don't see them getting back to being a perennial top 5 team ever again, I think Nebraska can be a "Wisconsin" type of program where they are a perennial top 15 or so team with the occasional run at the playoff. The fact that they are in the Big 10 West makes it easier. So if the Nebraska fans have come to terms with that, and can be satisfied with being a "Wisconsin" type of program, then I think Frost might be make a decent move.

Sounds like you're trying to convince yourself more than anyone else

And didn't we beat UCLA when we played in 2015? With the Bruins and Aggies as your favorites, sounds to me like you have your own teams to worry about.

If all you want is to win the division some and play in the conference championship game then he should be able to do that . He is not going to win the conference very often if at all . If that’s what he wants then it’s a great match .

UCF coach Scott Frost disputes report he is close to Nebraska deal
quote:

UCF football coach Scott Frost on Saturday shot down a report that he was nearing a seven-year, $35 million deal with his alma mater, Nebraska.

"That's just totally false," Frost said following No. 15 UCF's 45-19 win over Temple. "I haven't paid any attention to all of these whirlwind rumors and everything, and I'm not going to. I got an unbelievable team I'm coaching and I can promise you that no decision has been made."

A Bleacher Report tweet posted Friday night said that Frost, a former Huskers quarterback, was "close" to a deal to replace Mike Riley at Nebraska...

Lars Anderson is an Alabama professor. He may know Mike Riley. Who’s also an Alabama guy. I feel like this is a set up to keep frost from taking the job.
