Napier should stay put.

I know ULL has gotten a little annoying after they dropped the second ‘L’ but why would you move to a shithole and get your skull bashed in by LSU/Bama/Auburn when you can live in a much better place and win your conference?

I’ve always thought Oxford was massively overrated. I’ve never really understood the appeal. I realize that I’m in the minority.

I currently live in Oxford, but grew up in Lafayette. Oxford may not be as big and the people aren't as welcoming, but Oxford isn't called the velvet ditch for nothing. For starters, it almost completely lacks any area similar to that of Lafayettes' Northside.

Unless he’s joining Kiffin’s staff, I don’t think there’s anything to worry about. He can luxuriate in Lafayette until MSU comes calling next year. And we know what a paradise Starkville is.

I cant believe I am saying this but I worked in South Lafayette and Youngsville recently. Very nice area. People underestimate the amount of money in that region.

Oxford is way overrated but if Ole Miss offers him, Napier should take it. The longer he stays at USL, the bigger chance his stock craters at some point. See Mark Hudspeth.

The dude makes $1M a year as the Cajuns coach. That’s pretty life changing. It’s not $3.5-4M but it’s a ton of money. At a place that would build him a statue if he keeps it up for 5 years.

He takes the Ole Miss, Arkansas, or Missouri jobs he won’t last 5 years because those jobs are currently career killers.

Does that means he stays in Lafayette, absolutely not.

You keep saying this. Who's career was killed by these universities?

Losing at any P5 job is a “career killer”

What magical P5 job should he wait for? Texas? That’s a career killer that won’t give him as much time to win as we would.

Napier obviously isn’t going to have the sterling legacy of someone like Gerry Dinardo. But one can dream.

Maybe people from outside of the state. Residents of LA familiar with that area know there’s tons of money down there.

Let's say OM pays him $3.5m (2.5 more than ULL according to your figures). He gets fired after 4 years. That's $10 million more than he would have made at ULL in the interim.

If he averaged 8-9 wins per year at OM, we would also most likely build him a statue.

You ULL fans are so scared of losing Napier, you’re resorting to talking down about top tier college football jobs. Coaching in the SEC, no matter the school, is a million times better than coaching in the fricking Sun Belt. Any coach that turns down an SEC job to stay in the Sun Belt wouldn’t last in the SEC anyway.

Since 1992 the SEC West has been won by the big 3 all but 4 years. Arkansas has 3 west titles (95, 02 & 06) and Miss St has 1 (98).

That is why I say those programs are career killers. Sustained success is unattainable at those programs. It doesn’t matter who is the coach their.
