Menard has been a coaching carousel ever since they forced Hallman to resign because the freshman players’ parents complained he was too hard on their soft asses.

What I have heard also.
Sulphur has the kids and talent to be a yearly powerhouse if they would leave a good coach alone and let him coach.

That’ll never happen. The only one that told the parents to beat it was Viator.
Ever since then, the same last names that’s been behind the scenes have had a say so in who plays and what position. Never fails. And they all have younger kids coming up in middle school so nothing will change for a while.

From what I gather, they have no plan. The principal decided to fire him after parents whines about him.
I have no idea who coaches basketball. Barrentine is on the school board now, I think. Or a principal. Or both. Hearsay

Sulphur used to have the kids to have a great program. They don’t anymore. That is the problem.
They will have a good team with good years that ebb and flow but they are not a powerhouse.
They are also 2 years removed from a hurricane tha flattened Sulphur. Kids left that did not come back and some lost interest in football. Takes a few years to bounce back.
