Sulphur used to have the kids to have a great program. They don’t anymore. That is the problem.

They will have a good team with good years that ebb and flow but they are not a powerhouse.

They are also 2 years removed from a hurricane tha flattened Sulphur. Kids left that did not come back and some lost interest in football. Takes a few years to bounce back.

nothing you said here is remotely true

A) sulphur was not hit nearly as hard a LC, Westlake, even moss bluff

B) sulphur has the most talent that they have had in a long time

sulphur has huge problems with parents just like Prom said. huge issue over there and they annually have the talent to be top 10 team in the state every year.

now what you said is exactly whats going on at barbe. losing most of the out of district talent to LCCP now and lost a ton of kids because of Laura. Not sure they ever bounce back though if St Louis builds the new school.

I guess I spent a year and a half working in Sulfur and Moss Bluff because everything was fine.

Sulphuric is not near what it was in the 90s and early 2000s and will not consistently be that good again.

This one kind of surprised me.
School doesn’t have a lot. What they did have was several once in a generation type talents all showed up in the same class and helped propel the program to the next level. A big dip is coming. At the same time, I think his style kind of helped to make them competitive before that talent.

bro i live here, i know what areas where hit hardest and it wasnt sulphur and they didnt have a huge enrollment dip

and you dont live here, no offense but you have no clue what kind of talent sulphur has. they have way more than any other team in swla and have huge issues with politics.

No I don't.. my son played for CHS Baton Rouge in the early 80's and the men's club had a budget for coaches and $$$$..that is not the case in CHNI. Cane farmers like their money, plus O&G kinda dried up around Berry.

I’ve heard the same old last names run him out. He wasn’t great, but the principal let parents talk him into getting rid of Towery. Typical Sulphur politics

You know it's bad when parents are sending there kids to Westlake to play just so they don't have to deal with the politics.

Still sucks that he was forced out the way he was. I can imagine the parents are way worse now at Menard. It was only a matter of time for him. He was tough but a great coach.

I'm guessing it will be former AES head coach Matt Desormeaux, now the CHS VP
