Kiffin’s Egg Bowl press conference on Monday should be interesting to say the least.

We need Chicken sticky the link to it.
I can’t imagine the questions from the Ole Miss media to be exactly welcoming

What we think the chances are that this thing boils over before then? I don’t want another week of this lol

This is probably why something legit gets announced before that. Ole Miss doesn't want to put a coach in front of the press to take those sorts of shots when they want to "focus on the game."

Sad thing is he’ll be grilled more Monday than his entire combined tenure at LSU because of how gutless our media is

"I'm laser focused on the egg bowl. Nothing else matters at this time."
That, or some variant thereof, will be his response to any and all questions about LSU, where he will be coaching next year, will he be back at Ole Miss etc.

I’ve thought about this and tried to get inside the head of an Ole Miss fan/admin; about do I want him to coach Friday or not? Here is what I came up with.
(Taking out any contractual liability that Ole Miss may be exposing themselves to by not letting him coach etc).
From an OM perspective, the Egg Bowl, is their Super Bowl. They want to win this at all costs. That cost this year is that they believe that their best odds to win is to have LSU’s HC coach their team. Pathetic really. And not one that an upper level school has had ever had to contemplate as our coaches are not taken from us for other college jobs.
So I presume that when you are a lower level school, you don’t let your pride get in the way and you take it raw that you need your former coach to beat your arch rival.

Or you follow the money and realize that if Kiffin doesn't coach and they lose his departure will be used against them to potentially keep them out of the playoffs. Costing the program millions of dollars.
Although theoretically not ideal, allowing Kiffin to coach probably gives you the best chance to win.

They will ask and he will repeat “we are focused on winning our next game. Anything about that will be addressed later”.

Lane Train will just get up to the podium and say “At the end of the day, we are all looking for a soft place to land, arms that want to hold us, and someone who is willing to listen. We all just want to be loved, we all just want to be known. Remember that when you are struggling to understand someone. Find compassion. We are not so different
on the inside, although the surface may tell a different story.”

He’s not gonna say anything. Will deflect to egg bowl, chance to go 11-1 etc

Correct. He’s just going to answer the same way he did on the SEC teleconference last week.

With everything playing out as it is, would Kiffin still be coaching the egg bowl if it was an Ole Miss home game?
