Kiffin was never coming here

and i'm glad due to his past relationships as coach O's boss.
if coach O thought Kiffin would come to LSU no matter what he said, I really don't think he has the smarts to be our HC. Kiffin has ZERO to gain by coming here and lots to lose. the man wants to be a HC again and you can't blame him; a lateral move just makes no sense.
it is my sincere hope that hiring a top notch OC/ QB coach has been at the top of Coach O's to do list since day 1 and he hasn't dilly dallied around waiting for Kiffin to possibly become available.
this hire will define coach O's career (at least the start of it) as he needs 2 excellent coordinators to even be competitive in the SEC west. all of the silence we are experiencing now is probably an indication he is making a thorough search. even tho many interpret it as waiting for Kiffin. he has got to have a lot of contacts in the business and at 1.5 million plus he SHOULD be able to hire one.

Kiffin turned down OC job at Ole Miss too. O needs to realize that Kiffin would never allow himself to be below him

O could've been letting the Kiffin rumors fly so he could sneak in and hire Ensminger. He's a guy that wants the job!! Oh wait, no he doesn't.
In all seriousness, O has stressed over and over that he's learned so much from his stints at OM and USC, you have to hope he wouldn't screw himself over this bad this early on. If he does, he might as well go ahead and pack his bags.

It's a ploy for more $. Similar to Fisher, Herman, Miles, even Orgeron played LSU for more money long ago when Kiffen hired him.

The truly important question that needs to be answered is: which of LSU Grandad's grandchildren hijacked his keyboard and is actually posting cognitive thought under his account on TD?

Alabama is moving on from Kiffin and has Stark ready to go for OC. They have not offered Kiffin an extension.
Maybe O orchestrated this entire thing with his buddy to get the job. Considering the games these other coaches have played with LSU lately, I guess it wouldn't surprise me.

Any time you're name is a "hot commodity" for a job, wether it's the one you've got (AKA Fisher) or the one you want (AKA Herman), floating your name as "interest" from other teams gives leverage for getting paid more. This is all manufactured somewhere and in truth I'm not sure he's the best fit anyway.
