If we hire Applewhite then you might as well start packing Coach O's shite bc he won't make it through next year. Applewhite will not cut it.
Well, O never should have been considered in the first place.

But who would you accept other than Kiffin at OC?

Don't worry grasshopper. There is plenty of options for OC if Kiffin doesn't come LSU has plenty of money to throw at the best OC's in the country

a lateral move just makes no sense

Kiffin's contract expires in February at Bama and hasn't been extended. He's either, going to get a HC position or he's going to be our OC.

Once the Oregon HC and Houston HC search are over, we will know.

This is the biggest decision of his life. This in coach O’s home state. If he screws this up he would never be able to live it down.

The knock on Helfrich is he hasn't recruiting amazingly [of late]. Remember - Phil Knight runs the U of O football program. Its all about "what have you done for me lately . . ."

Despite having a few bad years getting the very best QB recruit [he had many 4 stars that didn't pan out], he is a terrific offensive mind. With others here like Craig and Orgeron to get the word out up-front, Helfrich will develop a winning SEC offensive strategy and that will attract top QBs down the road. If we keep our two current recruits, Helfrich can develop them into winners for us. The rest will take care of itself.
