Will be interesting to see how it plays out. I think Kiffin should go there.

This is why you don't hire someone based on their ability to bring in great coordinators instead of their ability to coach football.

If he gets offered, it would be a great move for Kiffin.

Hope he gets the job. I'm in the "no Kiffin" camp for LSU's OC.

if he gets it, he'd have beaten out the 2 old coordinators, Les Miles, and Lincoln Riley.

i wonder if he'd troll em on twitter afterwards.

Mascona made a great point yesterday on UH and Kiffin. UH wants a coach who will stick around more than 2 years. If they hire Lane it likely comes with a huge buyout. Is he okay having to stay 4-5 years at UH before getting back in the Power 5?

The only way I don't see this happening is if Houston's contract offer includes a huge buyout (which it should) to prevent their next coach from bolting for greener pastures in 2 years.

and it will. the billionaire trustee that's in charge of everything had made it known that it's gonna be tough as shite to poach the next UH guy bc of an enormous buyout clause planned.

I am as well, but see, if this was the plan, and it's already backfiring, that would just be hilarious.

Not getting Kiffin is probably a good thing, but O's promises already broken....it would just be funny first, then depressing that people are correct - This will never work. The idea of hiring someone just solely to hire better people is a terrible plan because of stuff exactly like this.

Been Listening to Birmingham's WJOX'/ JOX Roundtable saying he is Houston Bound. They just had Phil savage on and he said the same. LSU is out.

I can't see Kiffin being on board with a huge buyout. That's all.

ETA: Im not a Kiffin supporter.

Then Les Miles is clearly their man. There's no threat of him being offered another job. He's also guaranteed to stick around for years on end no matter how long he's overstayed his welcome.

Why in god's green earth would Fertitta hire Les? Fertitta wouldn't hire him as a porter at the Golden Nugget.

Kiffin won't get the Houston job. They are tired of being a stepping stone and know that if Kiffin would leave Tennessee after one year, he'd surely leave them as soon as he got a chance to move up. He might get an interview, but he won't get the job.

It will. O's entire binder was this

Alleva said would you take less $$$ than miles? O said yes. Search over.

This is the problem when your HC can't actually run one side of the ball. If one little piece of the puzzle falls out of place you're screwed.

Never wanted kiffin to begin with. Hopefully he is gone to UH.
