What’s the big difference in each one’s decision and what they did ? One was allowed to coach thru the playoff and one not ! Both expressed a desire to coach . I don’t hear all the hatred for Sumrall .

Short answer is Tulane isn't LSU

The difference in these situations is that Tulane showed class and Ole Miss was classless and bone headed.

Sumrall isn’t a polarizing figure that’s jumping to Tulane’s rival.

Media is also putting full blame on Kiffin and none on Ole Miss AD.

Yeah this. It might be different if he was going to Memphis.

Plus MOST Tulane fans thought he would be here for 2 or 3 years.

He has maintained the program and has left us in a good spot to hire another quality coach.

Kiffin would be doing what he’s doing now, except it’d be from inside the Ole Miss building vs. LSU. Keith can’t be blamed at all for making him get out.

Only circumstance. If Tulane said, no you can’t coach anymore, guess what, Sumrall would be leaving Tulane just like Kiffin.

It’s all noise and bullshite. Don’t worry about it.

Dumb take. Kiffin was willing to guardrail the hell out of the situation if he was allowed to stay. Carter let emotion overwhelm logic, and screwed his team as a result.

Tulane knows it is a stepping stool - Ole Miss is painfully remembering it is a stepping stool.

aren’t stepping school programs usually schools that lead coaches to better ones?

I'm a Tulane Season Ticket Holder. Sumrall was always a short-term proposition. We knew he'd be going somewhere once all the jobs started opening up. There are no hard feelings.

Ole Miss just got destroyed. They put all the pieces together and have a spot in the playoffs, yet got ditched for a hated rival that they still need to play every year. The nickname "runts" has never been more appropriate. They should change the mascot.
