Kiffin carries a shite ton of hype

And rightly so...

Tennessee - 53% win percentage
USC - 65% win percentage
Florida Atlantic - 67% win percentage
Ole Miss - 73% win percentage

He's gotten better with each new stop.

And we shouldn't give a rats arse about whatever the contract buyout is because apparently LSU can afford it.

THIS

People really need to stop saying we don’t have money on this board. This is a perfect example that we do have money. No, we don’t have Texas or Texas A&M–level oil money, but we have very large boosters who will spend.

Just look at the NIL money for this year’s roster and the buyout for BK. Anyone still saying we don’t have money is just out of touch with reality.

2. Stability - will he stick with LSU through thick and thin or will he leave as soon as Bama or Texas needs a new coach? He's been known to move around often.

No I think IF we get him away from OM which I would only give about 1 in 4 shot if he keeps winning this year I think that’s his last move “up”

As long as the contract is 3-5 years many coaches work.

Fair enough.

So who is LSU going to get that HAS won something in their life? Are Day or Smart coming to LSU? Do you want Dabo? O "won something", do you want him back? Jimbo "won something". He's available. Kelly was among the winningest active HCs in college football when LSU hired him....and here we are.

I'm not saying Lane is the man. But LSU's pool is not every HC alive today. It's guys that would be willing to consider/take the LSU job (which means people like Smart and Saban aren't actually in the pool). It's entirely possible Kiffin may be the best of that actual pool (though I don't think he comes to LSU, even if offered)

Unless they miss the playoffs, it’s not happening in my opinion

I wouldn't be surprised if he's been reading this board the last few days to get material to shitpost about on Twitter

Imagine if he comes back and changes back to his old ways and becomes fat Lane

Pros: Its not my money they will be paying him.

Cons: He spends more time on twitter than BK does at the golf course. Players dunking basketball hoops on the sidelines.

Maybe if they lose in first round, but even that is tight.

I think he’s an excellent fit but timing is not good.

Drinkwitz might be the safer choice than Lane.

What's the best case scenario for LSU to grab Lane? OM lose in the first round of the playoffs? If so, Lane would be LSU's Christmas present. LSU would miss the early signing date but would be in time for the portal window.

Key Dates:

2025-26 College Football Playoff schedule:
First Round: December 19-20, 2025
Quarterfinals: December 31, 2025 - January 1, 2026
Semifinals: January 8-9, 2026
National Championship: January 19, 2026

Recruiting:
Early signing period: December 3-5, 2025
Regular signing period: February 4, 2026

Portal:
Main window: January 2–16, 2026

Hard pass. LSU went after Saban when he was still an unknown. Look at Jay Johnson. A lot didn’t like that hire and here we are. LSU needs to go after a younger coach. Kiffin isn’t it

IDK how true this is but it seems that Drinkwitz has done a lot more with less than any coach in the SEC.

He's 50 years old

(that's 5 years younger than when Saban went to Bama)

The Rant was flooded with 3' deep cum from posters when Jay was hired. Everyone knew he was a really good coach and with LSU talent, he'd be great. Look how that turned out.

I have the same exact feeling about Lane.

Last night I was told... The governor of louisiana wants Kiffin. He watched the oklahoma game last weekend and the decision was made. He is going to do everything in his power to get him to campus
