While Tom Herman is everybody's girlfriend right now, I am wondering what the opinion is on the Navy HC. He just keeps on winning and doing so in impressive fashion given some of the limitations he has coaching at a service academy. He beat Herman. His teams are well prepared and even when "overmatched" gives his opponents all they can handle.

I mentioned him a few weeks back. He should at least get an official interview.

He is a heck of a coach. But I think he enjoys being at the Navel Academy and with the lack of year in and year out success his mentor, Paul Johnson has had at the P5 level, I imagine he will stay at Navy for a long time.

I think that may be the case as well, but his Navy teams impress me. Very well disciplined and always prepared. If he was to be considered, it would not bother me. I wouldn't mind a run heavy offense if it was done right. Malzahn has it,and I know there is a lot of criticism of Malzahn, but he does win.

Great. Y'all snag him up. We'll court Herman.

Don't they still run the triple option?

You know how hard it would be to recruit QB's and WR's to play in that offense?

Don't know much about him other than he runs the triple option. I REALLY don't think that offense could work in the SEC. There is too much talent and speed on defenses in the SEC for that to be a viable offense. However, he may run that b/c that type of offense works best with the type of players he can get.

Honestly, it appears there are much better options out there.

They have to be disciplined, they are in the Navy. They are under contract for several years and do not want a dishonorable discharge on their records. A bit different coaching 4 and 5 star prim donnas that are gone in 3 years to the NFL or jail.

So LSU got rid of Les Miles because of his archaic offense just so they can hire a guy who runs the triple option? Are you people for real or is this a joke?

Brigham Young brought him in last year for an interview after Bronco Mendenhall left. They offered him the job and he turned it down to stay at Navy.

Nice guy and good coach, but I do not think he would fit well in the SEC. Not sure he would want to leave either to be honest.

Unless he changes the offensive style I would not interview him.

Option football does not work in a major conference.

Let's look at FSU's and Houstons schedule, figure out their next losses, and divvy up on who starts which thread about those head coaches.

Seems to be the pattern here.

Yep. I remember the 2009 peach bowl when GA tech had been running all over every ACC team that year. LSU held them to 3 points.
