Young, successful at multiple schools as a position coach and had a great year at DC this year. Has ties to Georgia, now Houston, and was a GA at Bama.

Makes too much sense, and you know LSU would pay big money.

Like Belk a lot

Great background at Valdosta too

To have a top 5 D nationally with Dana as your HC is impressive as can be

Honestly was more impressed with Jones in last half of season.
Why not keep him?

As fans we’ll never know the entire story but objectively the first 8 games were a shite show

The last 4 polar opposite

The bigger sample or most recent/smaller sample?

I’d like a more proven guy. That’s my preference.

That’s a lazy hire.

Might be time to steal Elko from the Aggys...

He did a good job at the end of the season with a very depleted roster, and I think there’s something to be said for continuity so players don’t have a 3rd DC in 3 years. But even at their best the defense still looked disjointed at times and had lots of miscommunications, and he also didn’t really seem to manage player egos well (see: Ricks transferring) which is a problem.

Kelly will bring in a guy he trusts and start fresh - it would be a disaster to give a coordinator a 1 year leash then make a change, that’s then 4 years straight of coaching turnover

He turned it around the last few games, but is that enough evidence for you when there are better options available?

Doubt elko leaves aggy.

Belk would he a great hire.

Wonder if they keep daronte on staff and move him to safeties coach.

Agree. Wouldn’t mind Jones staying on staff as a position coach (safeties?) if that is something he would be interested in. Curious as to how good of a recruiter he is becoming

I’m thinking they should go for the Wisconsin DC. Throw some cash his way and see what happens

Just made a thread about this a while ago. I'd be for all 3, and for continuity for the players, Jones is a no brainer.

the fact it took four losses to make adjustments is troubling.

Belk turned Napier down flat. Napier needs to look elsewhere.
