Joe Alleva- how much criticism is warranted?

On one hand, A&M paid a bundle for Jimbo after a terrible FSU season. Circumstances are clearly much different this year than 2015 and 2016.
On the other hand, Alleva essentially admitted to acting like a petulant child by telling the world "he had a guy who actually wanted the job and wouldn't get in a bid war." One has to think since Jimbo just left, he was serious about leaving last year as well. Alleva certainly could have let his ego get in the way of making a hire most of the fan base would have liked.
But now we have Mullen to UF and Jimbo to A&M. Both coaches LSU could have gotten with the right leader to pull admin and boosters together.
Then you have Orgeron, who lost to Troy, but bounced back bigly, with a real shot at 10 wins in year one. Despite the loss to Troy, I have to say I am impressed he didn't lose the team. Jimbo seemingly lost his team, and Herman has had a very rough first year. 10 wins is nothing to scoff at.
So the question remains, how much should Alleva be criticized by LSU fans?

How do I quantify "all of it"?

No, no one has to think that. The situation is entirely different.
Alleva handled the coaching search poorly, but FSU was projected to contend for a title in 2017 and they won 5 games.

Man, it is painfully obvious Fisher was listening last year. It was easier to say yes this year, but from all accounts he has had bad blood with FSU admin for quite some time.

If LSU had any balls whatsoever, this would be the final nail in the coffin and they would fire his arse. But, looks like LSU wants to be dumb and have him aboard anyway, and I'm confused as to why. What good has Alleva done for us?

Alleva is responsible for all our problems

How can I put this as mild and rational as possible...
Alleva and F King Alexander should both be disemboweled then burned at the stake.

But he didn't win out? He lost to Bama?

I get the hire sucked(we think), but as of now his hire has done better than 95% of SEC hires in their first year

Alleva is a idiot. He should have been gone long before today.
The people crying and stomping their feet today sound like whiny bitches.

Don't forget that Jimbo was open to coming to BR the past two seasons.
2015 Alleva got swept up in an emotional send off for Miles and backed out of firing him for beating A&M.

I'm not saying he wasn't listening; but if the situations were reversed, I don't think he leaves FSU for aTm last year

I hope it's only the few crazies on the site that think like this in our fanbase. If not when Alleva or O gets shown the door we'll look just like UT. aTm is overpaying of that guy you'll see.

I think the implication is that he clearly botched our coaching search, and other programs are seamlessly making big name hires.

the man is thin skinned and possibly mentally unstable. he somehow found a way to make LSU look bad during the florida hurricane situation. then he rushed the hiring of O to make it look like he was his first choice all along. how he still has a job is beyond me.

8,823,236,901 criticisms. And a visit to the pit of misery.

I mean, 7.5M isn't really overpaying anymore. Coaches salaries have increased a lot. I will agree that 8-10 years is a lot.
