Agents don’t do things their clients disagree with. or eventually they won’t have clients.

True, but how many coaches don’t want more job security (via a longer contract) or more money for themselves, their coaching staffs, and/or players via NIL….

But agents are very good at talking their coaches into trusting them

True, but ADs don't have to play the game.

You could get from an attorney what you get from an agent and keep 9.5%.

Jimmy Sexton is the master of orchestrating negiotations and playing the various sides against the other. That is the job he is hired to do and the coaches are fine with that whether they admit it or not.

bullshite. Some of these AD’s don’t even interview you unless you have the right agent. It’s a good ole boy system and always has been. You have to play the game just like every other industry.

Pretty sure Devin White uses a local small town lawyer from Springhill to help him with all his contracts, endorsement deals, and such

College football would be a better sport if Sexton dropped dead of a heart attack today. Good for him for hoodwinking so many ADs, but the absurd rise in coaching salaries is a huge reason why the sport is going down the shitter.

No wonder he was the choice with all the buyout money we keep paying out

Yes and no. He knows how to grease the wheels to get the max number. Most coaches would know how to or care to do that. They just want to coach ball and be the most important person in the state
